You mentioned finding a good place for locally made ice cream. Care to share? We love Richardson's and Kimball Farm's ice cream but both are a little far for us.
We're in Burlington. I wish I could find a Richardson's place that is really close, like less than 10 min drive! The nearest I think is Reading. Not far, but I used to be able to walk to one and I liked that!
Ron's homemade ice cream is the best you will ever have! He has a bowling alley in Hyde Park where they sell it and I think he has a store inDedham too. Seriously so good!

My friend was talking about Ron's in Dedham. She said the same thing.

Batch is yummy... Cafe Bella Vita on Charles Street in Beacon Hill has good ice cream. JP Licks... Coffee Oreo... yes please (might need to go for a "walk" tomorrow.) Picco in the South End makes their own Ice Cream, I think it's terrible, but they have ice cream. +o( SOCO Creamery is from the Berkshires and their ice cream is delicious. I like the Dirty Chocolate and Espresso Cookie If you are in Kennebunkport, ME stop by Rococo. Amazing. Weird flavors, but they are sooooo good.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Ron's is SO GOOD!

I've had Picco's peanut butter chip and really liked it. Not as much as their pizza, obviously, but I thought it was good. And JP Licks Oreo cake batter is where it's at. I could eat that every day of my life and never get sick of it. I like Lizzy's ice cream, too. There's one in Waltham on Moody Street, one in Harvard Square, and one other one I can't remember where. We've started going to Ranc's in Belmont center instead of Cabot's, (the line is never out the door there) and we like it a lot.

Lizzy's... I forgot about them! 5k... I will give Picco's peanut butter chip a try. I've had their chocolate, and their coffee ice creams, and I actually could not finish either one. For me to throw away ice cream, something must be really wrong.
I cannot believe that no one has mentioned Christina's on Cambridge Street (Cambridge). It has Tazo Chocolate ice cream with 80% dark chocolate that is a-maz-zing!.

Mmm... their moose tracks is my favorite!
I believe Mr. Charlie's in Woburn serves Richardson ice cream. My husband and I like to go there. If you take exit 35 off I95 it's not far off the rotary heading towards Wilmington.

I know this thread is a couple days older, and I'm not sure anyone in their right mind would willinly drive this far for ice cream, other than my pg self (oh who am i kidding.. i did it when i wasn't pg too)
But there is a small place in West Bridgewater on the Brockton line, and they have 30 flavors of soft serve. It's called Asacks. Highly suggest it.
