On another note, what should I do this weekend? It's my birthday weekend and the only things I have planned are: laundry and mow law/prep flowerbeds for planting.
No kids...until Sunday evening. But then I have Monday off too.
Night out with some friends on Saturday. At the very least a nice dinner with your best friend. Then take the kids to the park/zoo on Monday. A nice long leisurely stroll. And get fancy cupcakes.

And make out with someone too, if you get the chance!

LOL. I'll see about the making out. Bar guy may have to work.
Dammit, wine guy just stopped by my office for a second and started to say something but was called away. *nervous* Couldn't tell if he was sad or just super calm...

It is a gorgeous morning! I really don't want to be at work...
I told my mom about my plans for DS's birthday and she invited herself to come along. I know it's not a big deal, and we will all have fun, but I was kind of looking forward to a day with just the two of us. Especially after the Easter Candy debacle. I'm still a little annoyed about that.
This weekend is the Arts Walk event downtown. I was really looking forward to going because I've never been able to go before, but now it's supposed to rain... I'll probably go anyway.
cuddlyevil what did he start to say that you're now nervous?
starrieskies I vote that you tell your mom you want this to be just a mother-son thing and make plans for her to celebrate his birthday with him another day. I wish you could just move out now.
I would feel the same way, starrieskies (about the candy debacle and about the day you've planned.) Can you just tell her that it's a mother and son thing?

GO ANYWAY. Art walk events are so fun!
And grr your mom. You can always go back to her and say you'd like it to be just yourself and DS, but I don't know what kind of tussle that would raise, if any.

I didn't really commit one way or the other yet. I figured I'd wait and see what the weather does and then make a less emotionally charged decision when I'm not as annoyed with her. Who knows, it might be nice to have her come along. Then again, she may decide she doesn't want to. She's kind of fickle like that. One minute something sounds amazing, the next minute she doesn't feel up to it.
I'm home with DS today. So far, we went out for breakfast, he played in the dirt with his new excavator and dump truck and now we're eating lunch. Next up... nap time.
