What are you training for? Date? Wolf Run this weekend and Chester Half Marathon 18 May
What does your training schedule for the week look like? M - 8 miles T - bike ride - 10 miles? W - 4 mile run T - 6 mile run F - Rest or a little ride S - Wolf Run!
Any issues, vents, or injuries? Nope - feeling good, fitness is coming right back, very happy about that.
Anything from last week to AW? Not really, just happy to be getting some longer runs in - 8 miles on Monday was a real victory.

What are you training for? Date? Nothing currently, just trying to ramp up my mileage a little bit before marathon training starts.
What does your training schedule for the week look like? Mon: 5 mi w/intervals + strength; Tues: 3 mi easy + yoga; Wed: 5-7 mi (depends on how much time I have before work) + maybe yoga; Thurs: strength and yoga; Fri: 5 mi easy; Sat: 10ish miles; Sun: rest
Any issues, vents, or injuries? I still have a strained hamstring. I can tell it's slowly getting better, but I've been warned it can take months to fully heal. Ugh. I had wanted to run a 5k in a couple of weeks, but I have no speed right now.
Anything from last week to AW? I've been doing a "sugar detox" - nothing official, just cutting out added sugars, sweets, and junk food for a couple of weeks, because I couldn't stop eating them and it was getting out of control. It's been going pretty well. I'm giving myself one cheat day each week, so that helps. This week is going to be hard, because I have dinner/brunch plans on 3 different days.
Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment? Pompeii by Bastille
What are you training for? Date? Springfield 5K 5/29, Potomac River Run Marathon 11/16
What does your training schedule for the week look like? Mon-5M + Strength, Tues- 4xhills + 1 mi warmup/cool down, Wed- 6M, Thur- 4M + Strength, Fri - Rest, Sat- 11Mi, Sun -40min fartlek
Any issues, vents, or injuries? Feeling pretty good for the most part
Anything from last week to AW? I think I've finally decided on what marathon I want to run. The timing works better for the Potomac River Run. Watching Boston yesterday made me really want to qualify as soon as I can and I think the Potomac River Run gives me a slight edge over MCM. I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull off doing 18/55 two seasons in a row, so I'm going to give it my all this summer and hope it pays off.
Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment? Glee's version of More Than a Feeling
What are you training for? Date? Nothing as of yet. I'm just trying to get out for more runs and see how this process goes before officially signing up for the fall marathon.
What does your training schedule for the week look like? Not a whole lot. This is a bad week but I'm hoping to get another two runs in and complete a long run before week's end if possible.
Any issues, vents, or injuries? Shin splints! Gah. I know the culprit... my shoes. Then once my shins start acting up I tend to get a lot of lower leg issues (ankle, etc.) and I'm battling some sort of weird ankle/shin thing from a misstep in my run last night. Sigh. It's always something it seems.
Anything from last week to AW? Nada
Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment? Hmm that's tough. I don't really listen to music when I run. I always like Santigold's "Disparate Youth" song. It pumps me up when I need a good push.
What are you training for? Date? Half marathon, May 25th
What does your training schedule for the week look like? Sunday-6.5 miles, weights MWF-I'm resting Tue/Thursday-8 miles I usually do my long runs Saturdays, I am at around 12 miles right now but I have a 10K on Sunday so I will do a shorter run Saturday and weights and then my 10K on Sunday
Any issues, vents, or injuries? Not really, I was exhausted when my alarm went off this morning but I pushed through my 8 mile run
Anything from last week to AW? 12.25 mile Saturday, my longest so far
Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment? I downloaded Damaged by Danity Kane (the band P. Diddy made lol) and it's embarrassing to have on my playlist but it's actually a really good running song!
Weird schedule this week bc we have family coming in to town but I'm going to do my best:
M - boot camp Tu - 3-4 mi W - off Th - off F - 3-4 mi Sa - 5-6 mi Su - weights at gym or rest
Vents: none this week!
AW: I signed up for a 5k a week from Saturday. DH will be out of town but MIL will be staying with us...I hope she is up for bringing DD out to "cheer"!
Song: I cranked up Hell and Back by Airbourne Toxic Event the other day.

What are you training for? Date? 10k this Sunday, 5k on May 3rd, 10k June 22nd (I still need to figure out if I'm doing this or not)
What does your training schedule for the week look like? Monday - rest Tuesday - 50 mins of intervals Wednesday - 5k run at the lake Thursday - rest Friday - 35 mins of intervals Saturday - rest Sunday - race
Any issues, vents, or injuries? My lower legs (shins and calves) have been killing me since all my running this weekend. I think I need to invest in a pair of compression socks.
Anything from last week to AW? I ran almost 13 miles on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and am feeling okay

I've been thinking about buying these since I am prone to shin issues (even with new shoes). I've been on the fence about it since I don't know how "helpful" they really are. I might bite the bullet and try it out.

I'm going to bite the bullet and buy some Saturday to use for my recovery post Sunday's race. I'll let you know if they are helpful or not.
What are you training for? Date? Glass City Half - SUNDAY!!
What does your training schedule for the week look like? I'm tapering. I did 3 miles yesterday, and I'm doing 2 tomorrow and 3 on Friday.
Any issues, vents, or injuries? I'm undertrained, but I'm going to try to just enjoy the race.
Anything from last week to AW? I've actually had really good runs for the past couple of weeks, so I'm hoping that the race will be a good run even if it isn't going to be a PR.
Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment? None, so I'm watching what everybody else says and making a new playlist for my race!
Only race left on my schedule is Beach to Bay relay marathon 5/17
Schedule this week: M: NROLW, 3 mile run T: rest W: yoga, 6 miles speed work (probably 6x800 w/ 1.5 warmup and cool down) Th: NROLW, 4 mile run F: Swim, 7 mile run S/S: wander around Buenos Aires!
Vents/AWs/comments: Had a great weekend of running. I'm trying to start incorporating some midday runs now that it's warming up because I'm running the anchor of this relay and the rest of the familia isn't super speedy, so I probably won't start til close to 11.
Bonus question: I don't listen to music while I run, so nothing in particular for me. At the gym it's whatever comes on the radio there.
After a lot of heartache, tears, and back and forth, I decided NOT to run the covered bridge half in June. While I am sad that I will not run it again (I love running this half, and the feeling of accomplishment whenever I finish is such a great feeling) just knowing that I am freeing up some of my time for other commitments I have is enough of a relief for me to not feel super guilty. I was also miserable planning and doing my training runs so far, I wanted to just run to run, not run to do a distance of 13.1 miles, you know? So all in all I think it was a good decision, I just feel sort of sad still.
To sum up: no more major training events for awhile

That had to be hard, but I'm glad you're OK with your decision.

What are you training for? Date? Nothing major yet. Just a 3.5mi Corporate Challenge on 5/15.

Anything from last week to AW? I found a class at the gym that I love! And, I have cut way back on sweets and junk over the last few weeks, and by body has started to adjust - felt like crud after eating too many sweets on Sunday.

Anything from last week to AW?

Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment?
I don't listen to music when I workout, but I have been loving Fall Out Boy's "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark" as a good pump up song.

That's tough . Sometimes we just need to listen to ourselves. If you aren't having fun with it, it isn't always worth it. Hopefully you will get back to enjoying running just to run now that the stress of training is gone.

rub some arnica cream on and then put on the socks. this is my go to when my shins get splinty.

I bought a pair this afternoon after work. I did only 25 mins of intervals because my shins were killing me. I put these suckers on an hour ago and am wondering why I didn't buy them before. I will probably wear them tomorrow during my run and report back again.
What does your training schedule for the week look like? M: 3 miles T: strength W: 3-4 miles Th: 3 miles F: rest S: run RnR Nashville S: strength
Any issues, vents, or injuries? My quads and hamstrings are still pretty sore. I blame sitting down for 2 hours immediately after my race. It feels good to run as long as I stay around an 11 minute mile.
Anything from last week to AW?
Nothing that I haven't already dedicated a thread to.
Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment?
What are you training for? Date? Blue Ridge Half Marathon, SATURDAY. Nike Womens Half Marathon, SUNDAY. I am still in serious denial that I'm running two half marathons this weekend. Also, Ragnar Chicago, 6/6-7

Bonus question: What workout song are you feeling at the moment? I know it's probably played out to a lot of people, but I've got Ellie Goulding's Burn on permaloop in my head. She's a big fan of the Nike marathon series and it's such a feel good, bubbly song.
I can't wait to hear about your races! Doing 2 in one w/e is badass, but when one is advertised as the hardest half?! At least it is the first one You will do great!

I think that sounds like a great choice. Hopefully you will be able to get a couple pace runs in on the trail too.
