Any advice on turning down a job offer? An offer came through on a position and I'm just not excited about it and don't think it is the next step I want. I've developed a great relationship with the Director and the Manager seems great, so I feel bad about (though logically I know I was interviewing them too--so it happens). I'd prefer to send them and the recruiter emails. Any advice on the best way to word it?
(Always know you can take my stuff with a grain of salt.)
Dear Hiring Manager,
I have been both honored and excited to be considered for (role name.) My interest for this position and company has only grown since meeting your team.
At this time, I have decided it will be best for me to pursue another direction.
Please know that I would be honored to be considered for future opportunities with your company. Thank you again for your time and consideration.
