I swear the guys I date have the absolute worst names and I really hate that. Lately it seems like everyone has a girls name or a president's name or something. I think Tracy was the worst. LB and the watchmaker both have the same girls name that I hate. I was so excited to go out with a guy with a freaking normal name last weekend.
And then there are two "normal" guys names that always end up being bad news for me that I try to stay away from (Jason and Brad)
No real point to this post other than being bored and this has been on my mind.

I hate that parents no longer know the different spellings for different sexes when giving kids unisex names. Like Tracy (girl) vs Tracey (boy), or Marian (girl) vs Marion (boy), or Stacy (girl) vs Stacey (boy), etc.
I kinda give an instant check mark against a guy if they have the same name as an ex.
With XFI, he had the same name as this total assmunch that my mom dated when I still in high shool. But mom's guy went by hisname-O. So when mom was first getting to know XFI, instead of calling him hisname, she called him hisname-O and I freaked and told her never ever to call him that. The thought of the two of them having the same hadn't occured to me until then and I got the inner willies just thinking about it.

A guy once made fun of my name and said it sounded like an old lady
Another guy freaked out when he heard my name because it's very uncommon (I've only met 3 other people with it in my life) and he had a ex-girlfriend with my name
My name is ridiculously common (both first and last), so much so that I kept XH's name in order to make it more difficult to find me (my maiden name is a bit more unusual).
I've dated only one man with a really unusual name (in HS). Besides that I've dated a Kent, a Chuckie (and yes, he was red headed), a Seth, and a George. XH was Chris (again, another really common name). Mijo's name is fairly common as well.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've had any repeat names (though I did go out with another Chuck...once). I doubt I'd ever date another Chris, however.
True story: I have a cousin who goes by 'Tracey' with the family. Until I was in HS, I thought that was a guy's name.

Every lousy relationship that I've had has been with someone whose name has started with J. The guy that I'm currently dating's name begins with an N. Thank God. ;D
I would never date a Chris either. I have known my fair share of douches with that name.
I have never dated anyone with a weird name. I would definitely not be opposed to dating someone with any of my exs names to be honest. It would be weird at first but nothing to worry about. My name is not common where I live but pretty common in the US.

I've never dated anyone with a unisex name...all very standard male names. BF has the same name as someone that I dated in HS, but the HS bf went by a shortened nickname version of the name, while BF goes by the full version.

My current BF has the same name as my XH. I thought about not even going out with him because of it but gave him a chance and I am very happy I did. I do call him by his intials. MJ and I call my XH by his last name. It seems fine now. I just never think of them by their first name. A very common first name for men.
I actually have a few names on my dealbreaker list. Ralph and Sam are both on that list, and I've turned down dates with guys with both those names. And for no reason other than I just hate the names!
I will never meet another man with XH's last name, I feel confident in that! It's unusual even in his county of origin. I got so tired of having to repeat it over and over and spell it on request even though it isn't pronounced phonetically in English.
Mr. Bang's name is extremely common (think one of the four gospels) but I like it. What irritates me though is that his XW, son's mom, has the same uncommon name as my lifelong best friend. I don't like that when I say that name everyone assumes I mean E's mom and I have to call my bff "Firstname Lastname" and XW gets to be the default firstname. I realize this is petty.

I was very young at the time, but I once broke up with a "George" after we began getting a little serious and I realized I couldn't say "Oh, George" in that sexy, breathy, I-want-you voice.

Thats just silly to me. If a name is a dealbreaker, it sounds like you may be too picky
It's possible. It's been over 15 years since then, so I may have been looking for reasons to break up with them, too.
