So I did the BAA 5k on Saturday. It was the most fun I have had at a race! I started in the 11 plus corral and just tried my best. I kicked it's ass. I finished in 33xx and I am so happy. There was so much energy, everyone was in such a good place and it was just amazing. The course was great; there was so much support. Just seeing everyone being so positive and energized was overwhelming!
I had to hold myself together going over the Marathon finish line, but managed to not cry. It was very hard not to. Good thing I had my sunglasses on! I would really suggest trying this race out if you have the opportunity!
I'm glad to hear you had a great experience. I have a group of friends that want to come with DH & I next year when I do the marathon. They were really excited when I told them there was a 5k. (They're all marathoners as well.) If you're in Boston, you might as well run in Boston. Love it!

Such a great time! You should definitely try to get in! I honestly cannot express how wonderful it was. I even ran down the stretch that I saw Ray Allen running a few years ago ( he ran the last mile of the marathon with his Mom) and I ran after him yelling "Ray Allen I love you!" haha. As I came upon that area I started chuckling to myself. Now that he is not a Celtic I may not do that if I saw him running through Boston.

LOL! That's hilarious.
Stupid question. Is it difficult to sign up for the 5k? Or is it just first come, first serve? As long as registration doesn't fill up before it gets to my qualification time, I already have my BQ time for Boston 2015, but if they need to keep their eyes open for the 5k registration (I'm assuming in the fall when the marathon opens?), I'll let them know.

Registration was in February! It sold out really quickly I think. I know my friend tried a little while later and it was closed. She tried maybe a few weeks after and I think she told me it sold out really quickly. I don't know if there was a huge amount of people due to what happened last year and so everyone wanted to join, or if it is always like that. I would recommend next year going on the website to see when registration opens. It was $50 for the entry fee.
