Thanks to @supergreen - I have been having a lot of muscle pain in my neck lately. She commented on a post yesterday about getting a new pillow to help with that. (idea)
I believe we currently have ones that were in the 2 for $20 bin at Costco. I really like our Costco memory foam mattress, but their memory foam pillows appear to only come in standard and I prefer king.
Yes. I love mine! It's a latex foam pillow. When I found it, I bought a couple because I've had a hard time locating latex memory foam and like the firmness of this one.
I had a bout of cranial radiopathy last year. It was horrible came on suddenly one night, I woke up unable to move my neck to the left with radiating pain and numbness down my left arm. It went on for 7 weeks before it finally cleared up. 2 things helped. 1) physical therapy and 2) my cervical pillow.
I don't use it "correctly" because I sleep with my arm under the pillow, but this is still better than anything I've ever had. I had to get over that it doesn't look "cute" on the bed, or hide it behind a sham. It's worth to never experience that kind of pain again. I haven't had so much as a stiff neck since I started using it. here's a link:
I just bought the pillow you recommended, I hope I love it!
I had that exact same pain you described. I had four really bad episodes of it. The last one was the worst, and I started going to PT at that time. Since then (January 2013) I've been searching for a pillow that I love and that doesn't go flat within a couple of weeks of purchase. My current one (Therapedic) was nice when I got it, but it's starting to make my neck hurt and I've only had it about 2.5 months.
DH and I both got "my pillow's" and he LOVES his. I hated mine. I sent it back.
Same here - but I don't completely hate mine so I kept it.
I alternate between the My Pillow and my cheapy one from Kohl's that's super soft & fluffy (I'm REALLY surprised that it's still as fluffy as it was when we bought it considering how much use it gets).
I would actually go to a mattress store and have them tell you what pillow is best. You need a different pillow depending on what position you sleep in, and it makes a HUGE difference. When we bought a mattress, we got new pillows too and they were only $30 and have resolved all my neck pain.
Depends on what kind of sleeper you are. As a side-sleeper prone to neck and shoulder tension, I like my talalay latex pillow. H uses the same; he's also a side-sleeper, but does not have tension issues. The pillows we buy are not cheap, but they hold up far better than others we've had.
Yay sjh722, I hope a new pillow helps! Neck pain SUCKS. As I said in my other post, I had chronic neck pain off and on for months. It wasn't bad enough to go to the doctor/chiropractor, it was just really annoying. I bought a Temper-Pedic pillow and have had zero issues since. ZERO.
I have to have two pillows when I sleep. One goes under my head, and one to cover my face (except my noes and mouth). Weird, I know. Love love love my foam Comforpedic pillows for under my head, and down pillows from the Company Store goes on top.

Yes! I found my pillow when I was bed shopping. I didn't end up getting a bed from this store, but I did buy a pillow. It was $90.00, and worth every penny. I've been using it for 9 years, and it still holds up just as good as it was on the first day. It's a latex memory foam one. I think this one is pretty close, I don't remember exactly which model I got.

I just bought a Tempurpedic Symphony, based on GBCN recommendations (I did a search), and it's heaven. I've been buying a series of knock-offs from Amazon for the past few years and I've had to replace them after a year or so, so I figured I should give the real thing a try. It's amazing so far! I'm a side/stomach sleeper and it's perfect for me. Got it at BB&B using a 20% off coupon: www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/symphony-pillow-by-tempur-pedic-reg/1014408061
