Pacing...I've been training with a friend who is slightly slower than me, we've done most of our long runs together around an 11:30 pace. I've done a few runs by myself in the past 2 weeks and realized I can run faster than I thought (9:30mm) but the longest I've done that for is 5 miles. Not sure what pace I should aim for for 13.1. I'm running a 5k and 10k consecutively this Sunday - definitely shooting for a sub-30 5k but I'm interested to see what I can maintain for the 10k.
Also stressing about the weather!

2. What's the one thing you're most stressed about for race day? What's the one thing you're not stressing in the slightest? I'm stressing about the mental struggle that I'm anticipating due to being undertrained. At the same time, I'm not really stressing about anything because I'm not expecting to PR.
3. Pick one song to represent your training for you half. Ummmm...not sure. Let me think on it.
4. Do you have a goal for your race? A/B/C goals? Not really. There's always that secret hope that the stars will align and I'll PR (so under 2:00). I'm saying that my goal is to run a solid 13.1 miles, but I'll probably be disappointed with anything over 2:10. I think I'll be happy with anything under 2:10.
5. If you could ask Meb or Sharlane one question, what would it be? What do you say to yourself to ignore the voice in your head that's telling you to slow down or stop on a particularly difficult day?

1. The race deets. U of I Christie Clinic HM this Saturday!! (and a 5k on friday night)
2. What's the one thing you're most stressed about for race day? What's the one thing you're not stressing in the slightest? Most stressed- hitting my A goal. Everything is pointing to me being able to do it, but I keep doubting myself. I'm working hard on eliminating that voice completely. Least stressed- the course. I've ran twice before. It's fast and flat. And the weather looks amazing so I don't think I can blame it on that if I fail.

4. Do you have a goal for your race? A/B/C goals? A: under 2:30. B: Under 2:40 C: Under 2:45 This is my 6th HM. My PR is 2:45:xx. I've never trained this hard or gotten this fast before. I should be able to do this.

I signed up for this thinking I could improve on my PR from March before we got serious about TTC, and then got a surprise BFP, and my pace went down by :30 sec/mile instantly. Oookay. I'll just take it easy. I'd love it if I could still do 2:00:xx or just under, but we'll see.

Most stressed about how the ankle is feeling, the weather, and the hills which are a big unknown for me. I'm not stressed about logistics because I've been a part of this dog and pony show for years now, we have it down to a science.

2. What's the one thing you're most stressed about for race day? Starting too fast and not pacing and getting tired at the end. What's the one thing you're not stressing in the slightest? My time. It's my first half and I've only been running for a year so it's my goal to just finish.

Eh, I'm not really stressed about anything. I guess like @sessalee and beckbech the weather? The extended forecast isn't looking that great.

I'm most stressed about how my legs will feel. My race last week was hillier than I realized, but I should be ok since I'm not expecting a PR.

So I read your blog the other day about your ankle. That sucks. What are you doing to rest and recover so you can get to the start line healthy?
"rest" isn't really part of my vocab. I'm choosing exercises carefully and listening to it. I'm icing, wrapping it, and taking a lot of aleve. It's working, it's much better really. I'll do an easy 3 friday to see what next week will look like at all.
2. What's the one thing you're most stressed about for race day? What's the one thing you're not stressing in the slightest? I'm really not stressing (yet). I've done the course before, so that's not a stressor. Hotel is booked. I don't have my nutrition plan down yet for this year, but I have last year's, and it worked ok, and besides we're still 8 weeks out. I feel fit and strong in my training, and I'm the lightest I've been since 2011. I'm ready to rock.

4. Do you have a goal for your race? A/B/C goals? I'm still deciding. I mean, yes, I will have them, but I'm still debating them. Last year I went 6:24. My A goal, like AA or AAA, is to see that beautiful 5:59. That would take a magical day though. 6:05, 6:10, and 6:15 are what I'm thinking right now. I'm not sure if that's cocky to have even my C goal 9 minutes faster than I went last year?
5. If you could ask Meb or Sharlane one question, what would it be? "Can you sign my running shoes?" They would be my magical race shoes. I mean, how do you line up at the start line with somebody wearing Meb-signed shoes and actually think you can beat them? lol.
