I had posted about looking, and after a few months we found our dog. She is a 2 year old Italian Greyhound Lab mix. I guessing the lab was the mother, and maybe a ladder was involved. We spent 2 hours with her, and she just loved everyone. My youngest even warmed up and sat close to her.
We let the kids name her, they picked Evil Doctor Robot or Ponyo loves Sosuke. We settled on Ponyo. My son is so excited he carried her name tag all the way home. We get to pick her up Friday after her fixin.

It was pretty funny, we went to look at a different dog that my husband saw online. My son kept pointing to her cage and walking over to look at her. She is pretty close to the opposite that we had in mind. We had talked about 4 to 5 year old, large to extra large and black.
She is under 35 lbs, a lot smaller then I am use to. She was so happy to be with us. She was really hyper when we got her out on the leash at first, but after 3 laps around the outside she settled down under the table and just enjoyed being outside with us. Even my chicken of a daughter was willing to get near her, and just talked up a storm about her all evening. We went to Petsmart and bought a ton of stuff. We walked in, and I asked for help so I did not forget anything, and we had a manger help us pick up, and then gave us tons of discounts, even if the item was not on discount. She was so happy we adopted instead of buying.
Both kids were heartbroken we did not take her home yesterday, but she had to be spayed, and honestly we had not bought anything. They have a deal with local vets for spaying so Friday we pick up between 4-5. We have her a crate with a twin blanket, and I need to get a insert for her bed. I knew we were going to get a dog so last time at Ikea I found cushion covers for one of the couches they sell that would make a nice big bed. Plus they are washable, and I was able to get 4 for $3.
