So twice now in a week I've read about people's running shoe of choice being discontinued or the new version sucks. In my case, this is the Mizuno Wave Rider. I love the 16s but the reviews on the 17s are bad. I was able to find two pairs of 16s a few weeks ago and ordered them. But...I am dreading the day I wear them out. I am hoping I can get them to last until the 18's come out and pray for a better version.
Do you go get re-fitted? I am wondering if a different Mizuno shoe would still work for me? I am scared because I have zero issues with these shoes.
When my Asics were redesigned last year I started from scratch and got refitted. I ended up in a different pair of Asics that I love even more. I will weep when they change.
The newest Mizuno Wave Inspires got bad reviews too, but I like them! I'd go to the running store and at least try them out before writing them off completely.
I get re-fitted every time my running shoe of choice is updated. At least then I can try them on the running store's treadmill and see if I like them or not.
I think its good to run in different shoes and different brands. If you like the Wave rider, maybe try Saucony The Ride or Brooks Ghost?
I love having a shoe for my mood....lol. Like if I am feeling slow, I turn to my New Balance (because they are cushion-y). If I am feeling fast, I turn to my Saucony Kinvaras. If I am feeling like running far, I do Brooks Pure Flow or Pure Drifts. EMBRACE YOUR OPTIONS!!!!

LOL. This is starting to be me. I have Saucony Kinvaras, Brooks Pureflow (1&3), and I'm going to try on Mizuno Sayonaras this weekend. Of course, this all started after they screwed with the original Pureflows, and I've desperately tried to find a replacement, but now I like having options.

i am not exaggerating when i say i have THREE shoe racks of running shoes by the door. It drives my husband nuts! I also wear Newtons, Altras (this is a new brand and I really it), Hokas and New Balance. ahhhh Breezy, clseale and I are going to change your lyfe!!
Well, crap. The Altras have been on my "to try" list, gumi. Lol So many shoes!! Come on over to the dark side breezy8407.
You guys have a good point, I should switch it up. I had 3 pairs of different shoes in high school for track, why not now? I will not show this thread to my H however.

I don't wear Mizuno's but this happened to me with the Asics I loved. I had a moment of panic! I did go to the LRS and get refitted. I ended up with the newer version of the Asics, but I also tried on Saucony's that the guy said would work for me too.
