Have any of you had this? I have numbness from my elbow through to my hands. Particularly when I have my elbows on a hard service or touch that area and feel numbness in my hands when I run.
I went to the neurologist today and he set me up for an appointment in two weeks to do nerve conduction test to see if those nerves are functioning properly. It is happening in both arms/hands.

I don't have this problem, but I see it a lot in my job. It's pretty common. EMG/NCV studies are a good way to diagnose where the problem is actually occurring.

What is the cause? What are the fixes? If you don't mind sharing. Maybe I was supposed to drop it in here.

Compressed nerves can be caused by any number of things - repetitive motion (like carpal tunnel), inflammation of a muscle or ligament which presses on the nerve, acute trauma, keeping your body in one position for a long time (like when you hold a phone to your ear for a while and have trouble straightening your arm afterwards), etc.
The treatment will depend on the cause (hence the diagnostic assessment). There are physical therapy modalities which can help, medications, home exercise, splinting, or even surgery. The one time I had this problem about 10 years ago, the cause was determined to be inflammation in my wrist causing compression - so I was prescribed Celebrex for the inflammation and it resolved on its own without further treatment.
