What do like ON the steak? Butter? Just salt? You're all going to say blue cheese and I pooh-poo that.
If you want to share your favorite side dishes too, feel free.
We've got birthday ribeyes thawing

I prefer just salt and pepper. I just want it to taste like steak.

DH does all ours. He marinates in salt, pepper and some Worcestershire. Nothing on it once it's grilled.

Balsamic butter. I had it at a restaurant once, and have no idea how to make it. But, it was heavenly.

We have a good rub from Costco right now.
Side dishes have to be carmelized pearl onions and balsamic glazed grilled asparagus.

Oh god, if you like steak/red meat, and are in DC --- Medium Rare is so fucking good.
Basically you get skirt steak with this amazing sauce and it's like UNLIMITED meat.
And you can take home tons.
It's seriously so good.
We'll be in DC in June. Can kids go to this restaurant?

Creamy horseradish and sauteed mushrooms. I like to marinate with salt, pepper, garlic, and a little soy sauce.
For side dishes, standard baked potatoes, grilled corn, and brussels sprouts w/bacon.

I love toppings on my steak.
Steak au poivre is my favorite way to eat steak.
Blue cheese is second.
Steak without toppings is like Christmas without presents. It's Christmas, and that's awesome, but presents will always make it better. Always.

Mmmm it is sooo good. It gives the juicy sweetness of an almost rare steak a hint of tang.

In most cases, I agree with this. Also, my favorite cut is prime rib and that really doesn't need anything added to it.
The one exception is foie gras...I had it once on top of an amazing steak. Ultimate decadence.
This. Also, marrow with steak.
So...I like steak on my steak?
H used to ask for A1 all the time (insert gif of baby Jesus crying) - I believe I have cured him of that.

My favorite steak ever was served with a roasted bulb of garlic on top.
My favorite rub at home is this one:
