I have been home 3 days over the past 3 weeks and my training has gone to the shitter. Even before my trips my training was getting done but not even close to the degree it should have been based on the goals I had for my race, because I had to find a new school to work at.
I've decided not to do my race next weekend, even though I know I could "Finish" the race. THe last two halfs I have done were pretty much just to finish. I don't want to just finish this time, so I'm not doing this particualar race but there is another that I will do mid-september, which will give me another oppurtunity to build my miles back up again and achieve my goals.
I thought I would be bummed, but really I am more relieved that we don't have to go out of town again next weekend. I also have a few sprints and one olympic distance in coming weeks, I'm excited for my new race schedule!
