I feel okay. My long runs haven't been very confidence building. And yesterday I had planned 12, but it was impossible to run outside with thunderstorms, 30pmh winds, driving rain, etc., so I did 6 on the treadmill. I know most 1/2 plans don't have a long run one week before the race, but I am bummed about it.
Anyway the rest of the week looks like this: Today: 4 (hopefully outside in the typhoon) Tues: easy 3 Wed: easy 3 Thur: 3 goal race pace Fri: easy 3 or off Sat: off Sun: RACE

pixy0stix that's fair - sorry if I missed an update on that front! How many people are running the 10k? Is it very big? How's the weather looking in CO this weekend?

I did 12 yesterday (per Hal Higdon's Novice 2 plan) and my left knee is really angry about that today. Seems 10 miles is my happy maximum, but past that my body feels it. I haven't really FELT my long runs like this until this point. Guess I see some foam rolling in my future!
Today was supposed to be yoga or pilates buuuut I hit the snooze button and went back to sleep. The rest of the week will be:
Mon: Rest, foam rolling Tues: Easy 2 Weds: Yoga or pilates Thurs: Easy 2 Fri: Yoga or pilates Sat: Rest (walk @ expo) Sun: 13.1 (!)

Y'know, I don't know. taratru is running the same race, as is andrealynn.
Forecast is 68 degrees. I just hope the wind isn't blowing.

yep, I moved down to the 10k to run with Pixy This week it is just a couple of short runs and then race day. I'm excited!
I ran a 5k and 10k yesterday. Kicked butt in the 5k (sub-30!) but then had 20+ minutes to wait for the 10k, which my body didn't like and I flubbed that (1:06). But overall, it was 9.3 miles in 1:36 which puts me at my goal half pace, so I guess it's good. I'm sore today though.
Mon: spin Tue: rest/walk around museum Wed: run 3 Thu: probably rest.... Fri: run 2-3/yoga Sat: walk at expo Sun: RACE
Pittsburgh girls....the weather looks awesome! What corral is everybody in? I'm in B (my mother registered me for Christmas and clearly has the utmost faith in me) but I'm thinking of moving back to D to be with my training partner.
We're also having a disagreement on when to get downtown. I want to leave our houses by 5:30, putting us downtown by 5:45. She doesn't want to leave until 6. I prefer to have tons of time to get parked, find our corrals, portapotties, fuel, stretch, etc. I hate rushing on race day.

Corral C for me! Most of my friends are in D, hubs is in B. We usually leave my friend's place at 5:30-5:45 and park on the north shore and walk over the bridge. It works really well!
I'm considering a last minute race on Sunday. It's not a set length but I'll aim for a half marathon if I do it. Basically you get a head start, then a catch-up car driving at a steady speed comes to get you. If it catches up with you, you're out. You can calculate when it will get you if you input your pace.
Should I? I haven't run a half marathon distance since 8 Feb. What say H&F?
@sessalee, OMG, I am so slow! The last time you said we needed "FSU" shirts, I was like I'm not wearing a Florida State shirt. And then I just got what you meant.... yeah, I'm a little slow.
I'm so ready/excited/nervous/scared all at the same time! I just can't wait for it to be here already. Also looking forward to my first race expo experience. Blocking my calendar off for two hours at work on Friday so I can take my time walking around at the expo.
Hubby and I are staying downtown Sat. night even though we're local so we don't have to fight traffic.
3 miles tonight then another 2 on Wed. and that's it for me!

Hi everyone!
I'm in Corral C (with you, @sessalee!); my hubs is in B but is considering bumping back just so we start together (and then he promptly pulls away from me over the course of the first couple miles, haha). We're just planning to walk over from our hotel that morning. I don't know what time. Obviously, we've discussed all this in great detail.
I'm ... nervous. I think I'll be ok. The longest run I got in was 11mi ... but I guess that just means I'll be good and rested. And I felt pretty good during that run, aside from my hip deciding it hated me about mile 10. DH is nursing a knee/IT band issue, but seems MUCH better this week than last.
I think my plan this week (weather permitting) is a couple easy miles tomorrow and Wed, maybe rest Thurs, a few easy on Friday and then rest/travel Saturday and race Sunday.
I'm so excited to hear how everyone's races go!! <)

I'm so excited for Sunday! My last "long run" (6 miles) was on Saturday when H and I were in Florida - it sure is different running in 80 degree weather v. the 50ish we've been used to.
I'll do 3 tomorrow and Thursday. Wednesday I will probably do pump. And I'll probably throw some yoga in there too.
I did have a minor freak out. When we were unpacking from our trip, I couldn't find my Garmin or iPod - I thought I left it in the rental car or hotel room! Luckily, it was with hubs stuff. Phew!
What are your menus like leading up to the half this week?
