I washed all of DD's baby clothes before she was born. This time around, I will wash anything new or that was in storage. Some friends are handing down NB clothes that will come to me freshly washed.

I did. I bought about 5-10 onesies in each size (nb, 0-3,3-6) and washed them all so we would be ready no matter what size he is. I got all of the onesies on sale so I won't care if we don't use newborn size. I figure we will buy more later after we know how big he is but I like having enough washed stuff to get us through the first few days no matter what size he is.
I plan to wash all new clothes, and rewash things we're using from when my son was little. I don't wash new things for me, but I do with babies since their skin is so sensitive and there are lots of chemicals in the manufacturing process.
I'd suggest not washing all of them though because you might use them.
I had *so* many I couldn't/didn't use but I had already washed them. It sucked.
This time, I washed all of the clothes that we'll be using from DS.
I don't understand. You mean you couldn't return them?
Right. So for example, size NB. He never wore them. Despite being only 7 lb 15oz. He just didn't fit in them. So even though I had bought a bunch of NB clothes, I couldn't return them since I had already washed them.

This is not a problem I ever had. I guess this is what happens when you are Team Green. Few people give you baby clothes as a gift while you are pregnant. I ended up with just the right amount.

Indeed. We were Team Green with our son, and did not get inundated with clothes, but instead, so stuff we needed like bottles, diapers, etc. All of our stuff is also gender neutral which is nice.
we will wash all the stuff we have after the shower to see if we get more there. we're team green so i don't think we will get a ton of clothes, but we'll see!

Yes, I will have to. I have very weird skin issues. I have to wash all my clothes and only have two detergents I can choose from without getting a rash. If this baby to be wants held it can't have random stuff on the clothes or I'll end up with a rash.
We are Team Green and weren't given tons of clothes. I've hardly bought any either, so I think we have just enough. I went ahead and washed it all. I can't stand the thought of putting unwashed clothes on my delicate lil baby's skin. Lol.

I will definitely wash all clothes/bedding etc. before the baby uses it. I'm thinking I won't wash all the clothes right away, in case we end up not needing it all (and want to be able to return things). But I'll make sure I have a fair amount washed before he arrives.
I washed all the clothes that were handed down to us. All the new stuff is hanging in the closet. I will wash them before he is born. I am waiting to see if I get doubles of stuff. I will either try to return them or use them as gifts.
I've been washing all the used stuff but I'll wait on the new stuff to make sure it fits when we need it to. Though a lot of new stuff I bought on clearance over the winter and I doubt I could return it anyway.

I am leaning towards not washing (and leaving tags on, etc.) until we know her sizes and can evaluate the final stash. I have already overbought and my showers haven't even begun yet.
I absolutely don't wash my own clothes before wearing.

I washed all NB and 0-3 months. A lot of the items drew up so I'm glad I did. There were some 3 month items that now are sized NB.
I didn't get gift receipts for the clothes and they came from so many places ( Cater's has a lot of brands/line sold everywhere) that I figured I'd just donate what he doesn't wear b/c I doubt I'd have the time or energy to figure out which store and take them back at that Newborn stage. The older/bigger stuff, I'll leave tags on and exchange if necessary.
I realized that since I washed all his clothes, I probably also need to wash the new nursing tops and bras I got or its pretty pointless- lol. I know I should wash my new clothes anyway, but I'm a impulse shopper and routinely have tags on my clothes that I forget to take off until last minute.
Almost all our 0-3 months are neutral as we never knew which flavour DS was. I plan on re-washing those. It is sprinkled with a few boy things. My plan is to go and buy some pink things a week or 2 before I am due and leave them in their carrier bag. If it is a girl then my mom will wash them while I am in the hospital. If it is a boy then I will just return them.
Unless you get a lot of clothes with tags where you know what store they came from, I'd wash it all. The only thing I might hold off on is newborn but I plan to hit cosignments for sleepers and will wash all of it before.
We arent finding out genders so I will buy boy and girl take home outfits and will leave the tags on to return what we dont use.

I don't plan on washing the coming home outfits because we're Team Green and I want to be able to return the outfit for the gender the baby doesn't end up being. I haven't really thought about the other stuff. So far I have several gender neutral onesies in NB sizes and some 0-3, so I may just wait until I know how big or small this child will be.
Generally speaking, yes, I'll wash all of the clothes. I'd never put new clothes on my own body without washing them first, and I definitely wouldn't put them on a baby.
We have a lot of used clothing that was given to us, that I will wash myself. I'll probably wash a reasonable amount of the new clothes, and then save some that have tags/receipts so that I can return or exchange if we don't use them.
