Mine had to be a cabbage patch doll.. Even though he was the reject nobody wanted.. He was amazing!
And would you wait hours for the new "thing" for you child? I ask because my parents didn't buy me a doll and didn't think I'd care or remember but I was turkey crushed.. So upset, just in tears.. Not angry just truly heartbroken and even to this day I remember that joy of the toy and him pretty much falling apart...
My favorite as a child was a cabbage patch doll too! I got her when I was 3. I still have her actually. She was given to me by my dad's best friend's parents (his best friend passed away in college so we became surrogate grandkids). Her name was Gussy
I probably will not be waiting in line. I don't even do that for me.
My favorite was a ratty old blue bunny rabbit I think my grandmother bought me at a garage sale. I absolutely love and now I'm wondering where it is? Mmmmm... I think my Mom has it in her basement.
Would I wait for hours for something for my kids? I don't have kids but I did wait two hours to have a booked signed for D's daughter. She loved it and I enjoyed doing it for her, we bond over books.
Mine was also a cabbage patch doll...a cornsilk hair one! We didn't have a ton of money and I had a "fake" cpd but I wanted a real one! She pretty much had a mullet, and wore a peach colored dress that was fugly, but I adored her!!
I'm more of an online shopper, so I can't imagine dealing with chaos to buy my kid something! I will say that I went out on Thanksgiving to get two video games for my kids and I will NEVER do that again!

lol at the mullet, that's awesome.. My doll was this boy one nobody wants.. Everybody was like who's he.. But I loved him. I'm not sure if I'd wait hours for a toy but then again people wait hours to video games, not me personally but I'm just saying I guess it not that crazy to be waiting
My favorite gift was one of those old school Gameboys with the cabbage green colored screen. My brother had one and I used to beg to play with it so my parents finally took pity on me and got me my own.
