I didn't like the main actor, he was boring. Bryan Cranston's character was much more interesting but got killed off too fast. Elizabeth Olsen was boring. There was too much human action and not enough monster action- I guess they were trying to build up to the final battle but it took too long to get there. And the monsters seem to be totally original for this movie - not classic ones Godzilla himself was pretty awesome though!
I was disappointed by it, but it wasn't bad either. And it was 1000x better than 1998 Godzilla!

I saw it tonight. Character development wise it was old school godzilla-- you never get enough to really care. It did drag early on but picked up some.
I may have giggled and said "yeah" when godzillas scales started to glow before he breathed fire.
I wish the music were a bit different but not much.
Thr 3d gave depth but not a lot of obvious moments.

I loved their take on Godzilla, himself. I loved that they kept him looking close to the original Godzilla but less "rubber suit". I wish they would have focused more on the monsters than the people, but overall I was pleased. My biggest thing was the 3D seemed a little off at some points. I was also pleased to see more than one Japanese person in this movie.

Saw this last night and really enjoyed it! My standards for monster movies/summer blockbusters are pretty low, all I want is to be entertained. I felt this one did a good job.
I did think Ford was pretty two dimensional. I never got invested in his character other than worrying about his kid (but I worry about all movie kids now, becoming a mom has ruined me for movies). I'd be up for a sequel!
Saw it this weekend. I liked it, I think we were robbed of some good monster fights though. I hated when they would start fighting and it would cut away to the actors.
