We started the 3 day Potty Training method today. I wanted to start it on a weekend so that DH was home with us for the first couple of days. I am so glad I didn't start mid-week by myself.
Overall, I think it's been a success, DD understands that she should *run* to the bathroom when she has to pee. She has made it a few times but has missed a whole bunch too.
I bought 26 pairs of panties for her, thought that would be good. We went through 10 pair in one hour this morning. I threw a load in the washer and went to the store when she took a nap. Bought 2 more packs, just in case. She did good through most of the afternoon/evening and then used 9 pair in an hour. By the time she went to sleep, she had 18 pair dirty from after nap time.
I think that she starts to go, stops herself (not finding wet spots on the carpet), runs to the bathroom & can't figure out how to go again since she stopped. She then gets dry panties...rinse & repeat until she manages to fully empty her bladder in the potty.

we are on day 2 now with our twin boys. Gibby has had few accidents - as we expected, he's doing awesome- he was more than ready...
Grayson has gone through about 10 pairs this morning... he's doing better- most of it comes out right when he's at the potty - but not always IN the potty- but he's holding it better than yesterday.
If she's not quite making it- you should really have a potty chair RIGHT where she's playing all day - so she doesn't have to go all teh way to the bathroom- sounds like she'd do a lot better if she didn't have that long trip to the bathroom?

it is not fun.
The method the OP is using says to only have the potty in the bathroom to train them that that's where they need to go. It definitely makes for a lot of clean-up until it "clicks" though LOL.
then she must be doing a different 3-day than me... but quite honestly - to follow anything to a T when it just doesn't jive with your family is silly.
we have one bathroom- upstairs. My boys would NEVER have made it to the potty if we only used the real bathroom.... and my older son "clicked" on day 3 and has had maybe 5 accidents in the past 2 years since... so it's not like putting a potty seat in the livingroom/play area is going to ruin it all.

Thanks for the encouragement Jenny! I really need it today.
Goldie - there is a bathroom right off our living room where we spend most of our time. She seems to just leak a little, stops & runs for the potty but then can't figure out how to start again so I don't think making it is the problem but thanks for the suggestion.
