I listen to old episodes of this american life and radiolab when cleaning or nursing.
Today, the radiolab episode mentioned research I helped out with in college. While the grad student deserves all the real credit, I was named on one of the papers when published. The professor nominally in charge was the one talking about it.
My sleep-deprived-by-new-baby-4am-zombie-fighting brain feels a little validated today :-)

Wahoo! I also missed some TAL episodes and was catching up this past weekend on a road trip. I heard the Harper High two part series for the first time and, man, I was sorry to have waited to hear it. Excellent, but weighty and intense.
What was the (general, non identifying?) topic? Has there been much progress? Cool!
lol :-) My amazing work as an assistant. But it was neat to find out people are still thinking about it and care. Especially when I feel like I can barely tie my own shoes these days.
I was pissed on behalf of the grad student I was working for/with. The professor had skipped town for harvard just before I came on and left her high and dry. She was her advisor in theory but was never available by phone to actually communicate with her. One little Nature article later and she's all over it - and still taking full credit for the work years later.
(It was in cognition, which radiolab loves to talk about, not hard science).
