For those of you that wear a waist pack or Spi Belt when running, do you wear it OVER your shirt or under it? Also, what do you stash in it? Which waist pack do you have?

I have a Spi Belt. I only where it at races where I need to carry my phone to meet up with DH after the race, because my phone is too big to fit in my water belt. (Someone posted an attachment I can get for my fuelbelt the other day though, which will totally solve the problem of wearing a spibelt under my water belt).
I wear it over my shirt, I can't imagine the potential chafing I would get if I wore it directly on my skin.
I have a spi bely, but I added a few belt loops to my favorite long run shorts/capris so it stays put. I usually only wear it for races/runs of 8 or more miles to hold my phone, shot blocks, and key.
I have a cheapo one from amazon but similar to spi belt. I wear it low on my hips over my pants/shirt and pretty much for every run, I like it so much better than an armband for my phone. For races/long runs, I put my phone, a hair tie, gels if using them, tissues and cash- it stretches really well!
I have a spi-belt i wear for weekday runs. I run with my dogs and need my hands-free. So, I blast pandora on it and set-up my RoadID app so my H knows where i am on the road and gets an alert if i'm stopped for 5+ minutes. I wear it over my shirt
Spi belt, and always over shirt. I don't wear it every run, only if I need to carry something. Sometimes I'll carry a headlamp if I'll be running near dusk but it isn't dark enough to need it when I start, chapstick, tissues, gels, etc.

I wore a spi-belt for the marathon last week. I wanted to have my iPhone with me and didn't know where else to put it. I wore it low on my hips under my shirt. It was annoying, but I could deal with it as a one time thing.
I go to great lengths to avoid wearing any type of belt. Stuff gels under my hat, pin, them inside my waistband, wear a shoe pouches with my ID, bandaids, medicine, etc.
Edit: I should add that I'm terrible about carrying fuel in general. Often I just fore-go gels all together and rely on course aid. Basically, ignore my useless drivel above.
for non-marathons I put my phone (if I bring it I often do not), metrocard/hotel key, and one of those single cottonelle wipe packets. for marathons I put that stuff minus phone + snacks.
I have both a SPI belt and a Fuel belt. I only wear my fuel belt when I need water (and now that it goes around my waist again- yay!). The SPI belt I wear on my shorter runs.
I wear both outside of my shirt. Can't imagine them working underneath.
I have an extra pouch (Fuelbelt brand but works on both SPI belt and Fuel belt) I carry my key, my smartphone, tissues, and for longer run my snacks (gummies,etc.). I also keep 3 bucks stashed in there (learned once on a long run gone bad when I walked home and bought myself a gatorade on the way).
Over. I started with a FlipBelt, but I looked poochy in race pics with it (lol, how vain is that?), so I switched to a Nathan Speed 2 belt. The LRS girl said it's supposed to be worn up on the natural waist. I put my phone in the pouch, and fuel if I'm racing. I added race clips too, which I love.

I do have one (see my other post for more info), and generally like it, but I felt poochy when wearing it, especially with a big phone, etc all stuffed in. But it stretches nicely to hold whatever I needed. I also bought an unfortunate bright orange color (WTF was I thinking?), and didn't like that it clashed with my running clothes, which hastened its trip to the bottom of my running drawer.

I have a spibelt -- I wear it under my tshirt/tank, flat against the waistband of my shorts/pants.
Usually just my cellphone and maybe keyfob end up in it. Sometimes I'll stash one mini ziploc of chews, but usually if I take food I just strap on my UD vest.
Ever since I discovered the magic pockets of LLL shorts, I haven't had to wear my spibelt. When I did, I guess it was neither under or over. I wear it so low on my hips, (like way lower than you'd think you'd need to. Under my hip bones. It would annoy the crap out of me at my natural waist.) it's not really an issue. I guess if my shirt is longer, than it goes over, because I race in snug shirts. Putting the belt under would be ridiculous for my race day outfits. I only carry fuel.
I have a generic spi-belt. I wear it low and on my hips so its typically under my shirt I guess. As long as I stick it low and on top of the waist of my pants/shorts, I don't even notice it.
I've only used it twice for races. Once was a winter half, and I stashed an extra set of gloves and hat in case I needed a change mid race due to over-sweating. The other was a 5-miler and I stashed my phone and car key.

I have only used mine when pg, so I wore it under my bump on pants but under shirt. no chaffing issues. But one of my friends always has hers and wears over shirt.
I wear my spibelt under my shirt, but over my running capris. I wear my fuelbelt over my shirt. I currently have to wear both, although now that I have my Bia watch, I can leave my phone in the car on long runs.

I wear a spibelt for every run, and keep my phone and ipod in it. It sits low on my hips, so it's not anyplace where it could chafe (so under or below my shirt). For long runs over 6 miles, I wear a fuel belt. The pocket on the fuel belt isn't big enough for my phone (I send DH a Glympse so he knows where I am), so I wear my spibelt, too.

which shorts are these?
I wear the LLL groovy shorts, but I think the speed shorts will hold the same amount. It looks like Nike just came out w/a similar short, the Nike Rival short. When tested to the max (I was curious), they held 5 gels and a pack of cheez its. I'm sure you could replace the cheez its for a phone, if that's more your thing. lol

I just ordered the Nike Rival shorts from Zappos - I'll let you know if they are comparable to the Run Groovy or not. I'm starting to get desperate. I have ONE pair of Run Groovy shorts (I found out I only like the 2-way stretch) and they don't have the size I need on the website. I tried two pairs of Athleta shorts and they just don't fit me right. So frustrating!

I prefer the 2-way stretch as well! Definitely let me know what you think. They're similar prices.
I tend to wear a spi belt for 1/2's or marathons. I almost never train with it though.
I've worn it low over my hips, and I've actually worn it under my shirt (around natural waist directly on skin) with no problems, just for a half. I was surprised it turned out, but I didn't really think about the chafing that could have ensued....
