Since all I can really do is sit, as walking/standing both kinda suck, I wrote my race report up. I mostly wrote it in my head on the way home and just had to type it up.
I want to thank everyone here for your endless support, advice, and generally putting up with me. Without your positive influence, I don't think I'd have done this today. So, thank you.
Great job!! Way to survive those hills! Your quads will be screaming tomorrow.
On another note, I was sure they were inflatable sheep or goats. I told my DH he needs an inflatable animal on a stick for the next race so I can easily find him.
Did you sample any gummy worms or Twizzlers on the course? Hope you had fun (it seems like you did)!
sassystace I totally saw discarded gummy worms at one point and thought of you! I skipped them, and totally missed the twizzlers. I think I was trying to convince myself that walking up the hill was not an option. I had a blast though! I'll be back next year, I have a friend that is KU and wants to do Pittsburgh as her comeback race.
Awesome time. Also, I like your blog and writing style.
It's kind of a stream of consciousness writing style, which means I forget things like the weather (50/overcast/perfect) and how I complimented one stranger on her awesome calves. And thank you!

oooh, I haven't been to Primanti's in years. Anyway, you must have been in the same corral as my friend, she mentioned the random delays and getting rained on. Other than that, sounds like you had a great race overall!
Love your race report! I can't believe you remember the miles, it all kind of seems like a blur to me already. I did see the llamas and the underwear sign. They were funny. What about the guy meowing on the Birmingham Bridge, that was odd.
Congratulations on an awesome first Half and awesome time!!!

Haha I was telling DH about all of those...the llamas, underwear sign and the cat guy. He had that big kitten poster , when I went by he was yelling "keep going you're doing PUUUUURRRRRfect!"
Awesome recap, I can't believe you remember mile by mile!
My miles were similar...my 12th mile was my slowest (that hill!) but then my 13th was my fastest (yay downhill). I'm a little bitter the finish was at the top of that little hill...I thought I was going to puke getting to it.

I had my tunes on at that point, so I missed the meowing. I did try to give the photog at the end of the bridge prior to that (North Shore to West End) a good pose though!

I've seen people lose it on that final incline at 13, like, to the point that they were carted away. I think that's why it was lined with medical staff!
