Hi ladies!
Not sure if anyone remembers me (I promise it's okay if you don't!), but I posted here a lot in advance of my first marathon in November 2012...which was the NYCM that was cancelled due to Sandy. Womp womp. I ran anyway, running around Central Park a bunch of times until my Garmin said 26.2 the day the marathon would have taken place. A couple of months later, we were all offered the chance to pick a future NYCM to run between 2013 and 2015, and I selected 2015...then found out I was (surprisingly) pregnant a day later. Very glad I picked 2015 because my pregnancy was high-risk and I had to stop running. DD is now 7 months old and I've run an embarrassing amount of times since I was cleared to run and am still carrying more weight around than I ever did before. But I'm doing well on WW so far and my Garmin is charged and ready to go for the beginning of C25K tomorrow.
I mostly stayed away from this board because it made me sad to be reminded of my former great shape in light of my current not-so-great shape, but I know now that I need to be here for the inspiration just like last time. I am probably not going to be as fast I was in 2012 but I still want to run NYCM 2015 (and all races leading up to it) as strong as I can.
I'm right there too, trying to get back into it after having a baby. I'm on week 2 of C25k. It's humbling for sure but - one day at a time, one workout at time. We'll get back there. Oh, and I've never run close to a marathon.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
