I would love to get a GPS watch for running outside, but I will only be able to run outside on the weekends because the area near my office is too dangerous to run during lunch (speeding cars, no sidewalks....) so I don't want to spend a ton of $$. I looked at the forerunner 110, but I want something that displays instant pace and from what I read on DC rainmaker the 110 doesn't display instant pace. I looked at the Foreunner 10 and Tom Tom runner the other day at best buy, but they weren't set up so that I could schroll thru the displays.
I have the 210, which is a successor to the 110, and does display instant pace -- for whatever it is worth, since it jumps around a little. The 220 is out, which is the successor to the 210, so you might be able to get a deal on the 210.
The 10 was no bueno for me, I think because it did not pair with a HRM.
I run with the Forerunner 220 and like the way it displays information. I've been having problems with it lately, but think it's because i need to update the software on it.
I have a 10, and it's great! I'm upgrading this month though, for Mother's Day, because I'm pregnant and now want to pair it with a HRM. If you don't need that, you can't beat the price of the 10.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I used to have a 110 until I switched to the 220, and I was very happy with it. I will go ahead and ask if you've ever used a watch that displays instant pace before, since almost everyone I know uses lap pace instead. Instant pace varies WILDLY, and IMO isn't all that useful (it could say I'm going 11 min miles one second, and 5 secs later in going 5:45 min/mi). I hugely prefer lap pace, and wouldn't miss instant pace at all if I didn't have it.

I have the old Nike Triax with the giant foot pod that has the instant display which I like and didn't find it to jump around that much. Garmin announced this morning that the Forerunner 15 which is the 10 with a heart rate and foot pod is being released later this month/early June so I think I may wait. I would love the 220, but I can't stomach the price when I am really only running outside once, maybe twice a week.
