We really are so lucky to be a part of a community that is so supportive, and where real friendships can develop over time.

So, here's some smushy mushy. I knew Ironman would be a life experience, more than training for a big race. And, many other races have been like this for me, too, but the scale and magnitude and time that has gone into this has really enhanced that. It has been so emotional, even spiritual for me. So, when people CARE, it is so incredibly validating. My parents, who missed my college graduation, are flying out for this. My childhood best friend is driving down. clseale, and so many of you have been such a major part of this process for me. It really makes me feel like it is something bigger in my life than a race. Maybe that sounds super cliche, whatever, it is really special.

I told clseale this awhile ago, that the way that others have said they are attached to this race is such incredible motivation for me to finish and finish strong. When doing it for myself isn't motivation enough, I really think your words will be.

So, blame the gush on taper, or my life stress, or that I'm on my period, but I really do appreciate all of your encouragement.

And the card she sent is hilarious. On the front it says, "You can do it!"
Inside it says, "THere. I've committed myself in big, bold letters on the front of a greeting card. Don't embarrass me now."

I've dreamt that I can see chw57 up ahead on the bike, finally catch her, and then it's not her, just a girl with her same kit. It's terrible!!! I won't be seeing that smoking chic too frequently during the race I don't think! Maybe her run loop 3 and my loop 1
