We're humid from roughly February-December soooo..lol
We cut the bridges short at 5.5 miles & finished up with 1.5 flat miles in the shade. Now I have a headache. I know I'll acclimate, but it's brutal. The good news is that summer running dehydration does wonders for muscle definition! (J/k)
I told H that it's kind of nice that it will be so sweaty in Houston because my arms might look fitter. No one repeat that.
Brutal though, yikes.
LOL! They totally will. The advantage to your appearance when losing 3 lbs of water weight, is real!
I finished a lot of runs over the summer in just a sports bra, and it wasn't such a horrible sight....then I'd drink a gallon of water & put my shirt back on.

If the race photo gods are real, they will allow me ONE good race photo from this day. JUST ONE, I BEG.
ETA: and I'm loling at your water --> shirt. Right!

I didn't leave FL because of the weather, but it's a major reason why I don't want to move back. Sure, it's lovely from December-March, but the other 8 months of the year are painful.
sadlebred, it looks like we'll get back into the low-mid 80s this weekend. I think we'll bounce back & forth for a couple more weeks before the 90s are officially here to stay...and it gets even hotter.
Hang in there brit! I know you have it worst of all.
We're high 80s, hitting 90 1-2 days this week. But it's in the 50s in the morning, so that is nice!
The half i'm running in a few weeks used to start at 7:30. It would get brutally hot once you were off the greenway (so like, 10 miles of the race). I usually weigh myself before & after every long run to ensure i'm drinking back enough fluids.
That race I weighed myself when i first got up - ate breakfast, drank all four bottles from my fuel belt, additional water from aid stations, a gatorade/water/italian ice(s) after the race and came home to weigh almost 3 lbs less than when i got up that morning. SERIOUS SWEATING.
Now they start the race at 6:30 and reversed the course so you're on the greenway at the end!
barf. it was 90% humidity at 630 when I was checking the weather trying ot decide whether or not I wanted to run when DD gets up.
Ugh. That's why I hardly ever run before work. The humidity gets me even more than the heat, and the humidity is even worse in the morning. I love 7-8 AM, but DH & I tried a few 5 AM runs, and we were more miserable than at 6 PM.

i hear ya, the humidity is the suck.. but 6pm is like a death trap around here. I have to run when everyone else has gone to work other wise it's treadmill city; and the screen on my TM doesn't work so that's annoying. I hate summer. I always find a reason to bitch out of runs during the summer. Now is not a convenient time to decide I want to run again.
