I was on my way home last night and saw a crazy amount of emergency vehicles....turned out to be this:

We have had three teens in Iowa who have seriously injured themselves doing this. But let's be honest I wouldn't have done it anyways lol.

Also what drove me nuts was the constant effing videos on my FB feed. STAAHP!

Be a maverick. Don't jump in the water. Don't tag people for some BS social media chain letter. Just donate a nice amount to a charity you were going to donate to anyway, and don't AW it up on Facebook.

Around me, if you get tagged, and DON'T jump, you donate $100 to a charity. If you do jump, you get out of donating.

So basically, the people jumping are not being helpful at all. It's pointless.

And clearly you aren't seeing the ones I've seen. Everyone is jumping into lakes/rivers/whatever. Which is what I assumed you meant by your mention of the pond in your complex and some river. And, you know, because everyone was talking about that.

Hell, they had to do a PSA here because people thought they should jump into the only open water on a particular lake, but that area is illegal to swim in because of undercurrents. Those people have had to be rescued as well because once you get in, you can't easily get out.
