I'm getting my first brazilian blowout next week and I am not sure how I am going to handle the maintenance part. It's recommended that you only shower 3x a week to maintain the treatment, but I am runnign 4-5 days a week and I am a sweaty beast. If you have had it done (or a similar treatment), how did you deal with it? Dry shampoo? Just rinsing with water? Right now, I wash my hair 2x a day, so this is going to be a huge change for me. But I need to tame my crazy hair in this humidity, so I want to give it a try.
i have curly hair and fought it for a long time (well, until 11th grade ) - now i wear it curly and love it. Do ladies who get these just not want curls anymore???
I wash my hair daily after my morning workouts - but i would try the dry shampoo and see how it works. Does that mean wash your hair 3 times per week total??? How often do you have to get the blowout done?
I have wavy/curly hair and I just don't shampoo much. Once or twice a month, maybe. I scrub my scalp with conditioner instead (sweaty workout days too), and pretty much just let my freak flag fly in regards to frizz... My hair is huge, I've never conquered the frizz, so now I just treat it gently and coexist with my mop
I can wring the sweat out of my pony tail once I'm done exercising. Super jealous of anyone who can do a little dry shampoo and be on their way.
this is me too.
grossness alert: Once on a summer 10 miler with a friend, she said "oh - i think i just felt a raindrop!" There were no clouds in the sky. It was just dripping from my ponytail

Unlike many people, I don't have pretty, smooth curls. It looks great for about an hour or so, but by the end of the day in humidity, no matter what sort of product I use, my curls aren't the least bit defined. It's just...a ball of frizz. I am not a huge fan of my hair straight since I have a really small head (lol), so this treatment is more of a smoothing treatment. I could wear it straight if I wanted to, and it's supposed to take less time.
The treatment is supposed to last 10-12 weeks, but my friend who had it done says that the less she shampoos, the longer it lasts.

This. Also why I cut my hair off again. It takes about 3 minutes to blow dry it all and little to no style work and it falls into my hair cut. I LOOOVEEE my stylist. It's all credit to him!
I've been getting the underside my hair dyed random unnatural colors [blue, purple, green, etc] with semi-permanent dye which means it fades with washes. So, I don't wash my hair very often, even with all of my running. Lately it's been every 3 days or so.
I use zero product. As soon as I'm done running I take my hair down and air it out. Dry shampoo can help, but I haven't found one I love. By day 3 my hair is usually up [but not today! taper week ftw] somehow. If styling is getting hard I'll rinse my hair when I shower, it helps freshen it up. When I do wash my hair I shampoo the roots and condition the ends.
And obviously I shower with my hair knotted up on top of my head!

I only wash my hair with shampoo twice a week, but I rinse it with water every day. Is the prohibition on washing your hair limited to shampoo, or can you rinse with water?

That's me too, although I've never really fought it that hard. I was always a swimmer, so it was wet too often to fight it.
I wash my hair w/gentle shampoo once/day and often twice/day on the weekends. My hair doesn't care. I use an intensive conditioning treatment once/week.

is it the shampoo or the water that you are supposed to avoid?
I wash my hair once per week, max. if I get really sweaty I'll rinse my hair post workout, but most of the time I just un-pineapple my hair and let the roots air dry.

Hmm...I hadn't thought about just rinsing it until it was mentioned above. Now that, I could deal with.
