First overnight trip sans baby

H and I are going on our first overnight trip just the two of us tomorrow. We'll be gone just over 24 hours so we can do a whirlwind day/night in Las Vegas. It was one of our favorite long weekend getaways before having J and we're both excited to eat, drink and generally just have some uninterrupted adult time.

That, of course, doesn't mean that there isn't a part of me that is so sad at leaving J. I know it's silly and I know he'll be fine and we'll have fun, but ugh. I'm gonna miss the little squirt!

But! I am very much looking forward to lounging by the pool with cocktails and a magazine instead of a baby float and swim diapers. LOL

good for you! My husband and I didn't take any type of vacation away from the kids until last summer - took us 4.5 years to do it - an it was awesome to get away together -so good for our marriage, etc. You are smart to do it alraedy

We went away in March for our anniversary. It was a little difficult being away, but it was SO, SO nice to feel like and adult for a couple of days.

I'm jealous, DH & I were just saying yesterday how we want to do a Vegas trip. We used to go a bunch when we lived in Phoenix.

J is staying with H's parents - who are both thrilled and frightened to have him solo for a full day/night. LOL I think they'll be taking lots of walks - to the park, beach etc.

DH and I went to Mexico for our first trip away from DS at 22 months. It was a little nerve-wracking.

But we had sooooo much fun!!! It was awesome sleeping, eating and drinking whenever we wanted. So relaxing!
