We are hitting Montego Bay for memorial weekend for a friend's 50th birthday. They rented a house and we get a room. So excited. This is a chilll-out weekend so we are not looking to do a ton beyond hang out at the pool/beach at the house and relax.
Curious though if there is something just amazing there we should not miss. My basic google/trip advisor searches are not coming up with much. Our house has a small beach so I would like to hit a bigger beach at some point.
We have been to Negril before so did YS Falls and the rum tour so don't want to say trip there.
oh shucks. You are making me blush. We didn't travel for a long time so now just take every chance we can get. the Dubai experience was totally a Groupon deal that made it possible. there are much more experienced travellers on here I assure you.
Where are you staying? Do you want restaurant recommendations?
A great beach in MoBay is Doctors Cove. It is open to the public so anyone can access it, there is an entrance fee but it is fairly cheap.
If you are into history, you could do one of the great houses. There is the most popular one, Rose Hall, which is fun. But most historical interesting is a place called Greenwood Great House which is a bit further away on the west side of MoBay.
If you want to go rafting, the Martha Brae inFalmouth is a fun day out.
If you were willing to travel a bit further, Dunns River is in Ocho rios. It is very different to YS Falls, a lot of touristy b still fun. You could combine that with a trip to dolphin cove or mystic mountain,
Ask me any questions, I go there lots.
we are staying at the Tryall Club. Our friends rented a house there so we have a room.
The tryall club is gorgeous! The beach is small but nice. They have excellent staff on the beach who bring you drinks all day long. Do you play golf? It's set on the islands best golf course which isn't open to the general public.
Restaurants - definitely try scotches for the best jerk around. That's more of a fast food style option. The Sugar Mill is the nicest of the high end restaurants. My personal favorite is a place called Houseboat. - it is on the west side of Montego Bay (which is the side Tryall is on) and is on a little boat. They do great seafood. It is mid range and a really nice evening option,
When our friends said we will have our own staff my jaw hit the ground.
They have a long-style raft trip (not a white water thing) planned too which sounds interesting.
Dh plays golf so may have to tell him this.
