I just got new running shoes yesterday. They are so comfy and springy! But, it's snowing. I don't want to use my pretty new shoes on the treadmill. That's no way to start a beautiful friendship. Wah, wah, wah.
Nice! I have those in my rotation too! I have the GT2000s, Adidas Supernova, and Asics Cumulus in my rotation. I usually only have 2 shoes in rotation but a killer deal from Running Warehouse and my impatience meant that I now have 3 pairs.
I have new running shoes that I don't really like too, but I didn't just recently buy them, I pulled them out of a box in my closet. The pink is, how can I say, too much for me:
I bought them because a) they were like half price last fall, and b) even if I dislike a color, it's easier for me to track mileage on non-identical pairs of the same shoes. I own 4 pairs of size 7 Nimbus 14s: 1 retired, 2 in use, 1 in box. I figured if I pulled these out now while I'm in high training volume I'd run the miles in them in the shortest time. I have a less obnoxious purple pair that I like much better that are going simultaneously that I will wear for races/any occasion when a camera might be around! #vanity

Omg I have those! I love the nimbus 14 hated the 15s so I have been through 4 pairs of the 14. I bought those because money went to breast cancer. I just happily retired them after my half last week!

Me too. I am leery of the 16s and will cross that bridge when I come to it.
I didn't realize the pink shoes were Susan G. Komen-sponsored though. If I had known, I would not have bought them. I hate all things Susan G. Komen- and pinkwashing-related. Most of the money for breast cancer "awareness" branded (and yes, I think "branded" is the right term) products goes to advancing the pink ribbon brand as opposed to benefiting actual research or patient services. We don't need more breast cancer "awareness" or more pink, we need a cure.

I LOVE THE PINK!
I love the pink too! I have a pair of the 15's in the "light show" bright pink and I (heart) them.
Nordstrom has the 15's on sale in a few colors for $109 so I'm going to pick up another pair (green!) to add to my rotation. And ebates is doing 15% back...so why not?
I'm also questioning my new running shoes. I was replacing running shoes and gear last week. I wound up getting a pair of Newtons because they were the most comfortable, and I liked how light they were. I didn't look at the price until I got home. So far so good, but considering that I replace shoes about 3-4 times a year, I'm trying to decide if the Newtons are worth their price. Are there any Newton lovers on the board?
I tried but they weren't for me (made my ankles tired? I just didn't adjust to those knobs well), but have two friends that run and really like. They last longer than other shoes for them too, I imagine you'd have to replace less with them.
I've decided I want brooks transcends - anyone use? I use pureflow now I'm just tired that they need to be replaced soon quickly for me (I don't run that much; but I am a shoe baby I admit).

I ran in Newtons for several years- loved them! I stayed injury free until I broke my heel (freak accident according to my doc) but I never really could go back to them for longer distances although I do rotate them in. I ended up back in Mizuno's (always do!) and love my Wave Inspire 10's!

The Transcends area really a support shoe and the Pure Flows much more of a neutral shoe. Do you overpronate?

I am slight over pronator. I can get away with some neutrals, but technically should be in a correction. The Brooks guy claimed that the "guide rails" wouldn't correct if you didn't did it like other shoes. Is there a brooks neutral you'd recommend instead?

Launch. More cushion and drop than the flow but not as bulky and, well I think, overpriced as the Transcend. I love love love the Launch.

EXCELLENT, thank you, I will look at those! I am looking for a bit more cushion (if hoping it will just last longer then!).

If you have slight overpronation, I think the Transcends could work for you- I have been told the same thing from LRS reps about the guide rails only correcting when needed. Personally, it didn't correct for me where I needed it to, but some people love the feel of them. Have you tried them on?
I've never run in Brooks with the exception of the Adrenaline a LOONNNGGG time ago.

no I haven't. I should do that. I really like the brooks but I want something new. Guess I should finally try our the local running stores here....

Agreed. Your LRS is always the best bet. I would encourage you to try at least 3 shoes though. My LRS put me on the TM and videoed each shoe and one out of the three corrected my issue It makes me very confident in the shoe I am wearing!
