Well, this is new! Last night in bed I rolled over and I got a sharp pain in my pelvis. It was my SPD so I was not overly surprised, but then my body temperature suddenly dropped and I started shivering uncontrollably. DH wrapped himself and our thick winter duvet around me to try and bring my body temp back to normal. I phoned the midwife service this morning, just to check that I don't need to worry about it, and she said to me that it sounds like my body went into shock as a reaction to the pain. Apparently this does happen and I don't need to worry. Has this happened to anyone else? I mean I have been through labour before and this never happened so I am a bit huh? about it.
Huh, hadn't heard of that one. I spent some QT in L&D yesterday to get my hot flashes/chills/dancing dots checked out and they told me it was just hormonal.
My whatever: I'm completely fascinated by the cyber bullying thread over on CEP. I hope I never enter such a state of parental self-delusionment. Both my H are and I are what you'd call "in the industry" and reading that family's claims has produced quite a few gigglesnorts.
I threw up in my mouth last night. :/ Luckily I was half awake since I needed to get up to per but it was soooo nasty to have to swallow it back down. I sat straight up in bed and scared H. If I hadn't been half awake, it would have been even grosser. Blergh.
I got a charley horse in my right calf last night while sleeping. OMG that pain is horrible. I haven't had one in years. Today it feels like I ran a marathon.
Also, I haven't gone #2 since oh, Thursday? And I ate junk all weekend. I got a hot drink from the gas station to hopefully get it going.
I'm off work today and I just made my padsickles! I remember bricco posting about this and I copied the recipe have been planning to do it ever since. Can't believe it's getting to that point. Although I'm doing it a tad early maybe, I could help it 36 weeks tomorrow!
I got up to pee four times last night. Ugh, that's a new record. At least my bladder is punctual, though--I woke up every two hours, exactly down to the minute.
So...question for those in the third tri. When did you start wearing pads/liners as a "just in case" measure? I'm not too worried about my water breaking, more of a general swamp vag/leaky/snissing situation.

I haven't yet and am almost 34w. I'm living dangerously.

I made it to the gym this morning. Horay! It seems that every morning I go is an accomplishment. It also means I'm starving all day!
And I'm really fed up with a woman at work. She's helping me prepare some documents and every time I turn around she's changed her mind on something. We've been trying to get 2 documents done for like 6 months now.
DH set up the dresser in the baby's room yesterday, and is building the crib today. Him being laid off really sucks money and insurance wise, but man a lot is getting done around our house! He finished hanging the drywall in the basement last night and a friend is going to help him start with the mudding/taping/sanding next.
I've been having crazy pains the last few days. I think I really over did it this weekend. I'm feeling a bit better today, and baby is moving around like crazy still so I'm hoping all is okay. I'm definitely going to ask my dr. about it at my appointment tomorrow though. I've also had some braxton hicks contractions which are crazy uncomfortable, and a little scary.
bowies, I've been wearing liners every day since the first tri. I am completely jealous of all you ladies who haven't had, ahem, regular leakage. If my water breaks, the thin liner isn't going to help me at all, though, so I'm not worried about it. Remember that only something like 10 percent of women actually have their water break, anyway.

I really want to be better about taking pictures. FI and I were looking through pics and realized we only have about 4 decent ones of us, I want to be much better once the baby comes. So, do you all own or are you planning to buy a camera for the baby? Or just use a cell phone? If a camera, what did you get?

I'm still mid 2nd tri, but I've started this week. Now that I've switched from pants to thin skirts, I'm more paranoid.

This is redundant, but I'm getting tired of answering the same 10 questions every single day at work. When are you due? How many more days? How are you feeling? What's the baby's name? (which we aren't telling anyone and I get the same crap from every single person who asks when I won't tell them), is the baby's room set up, how much time off are you taking, you must be uncomfortable, etc.
30 more days (give or take) of this - lord help me.
LOL I just had perhaps the most awkward conversation EVER. There is a guy who works here who is SO SO SO sweet. He's a little bit of a PITA because his memory isn't great and he doesn't take notes, so he needs a lot of help with stuff and repeatedly, but he is so appreciative and considerate that it's impossible to get angry at him. lol.
Anyway, like a month ago he was in our area and was getting help from a CW. As he left, he asked how I was doing and I think I just said fine. He asked me if I had any summer vacation planned, and I said no not really. He said something like "oh well maybe someday when you have kids". I think I was still on that line of "is she....?" and he was fishing, but I was busy and just didn't have it in me to indulge, so I just said something like "yeah maybe one day," and he left.
Well now I am very much over the line of "is she...?" LOL, and he was in our area again to talk to another CW. He comes up to my desk while I am on the computer and says hi. He is completely out of normal flow of traffic, so he obviously is here to talk to me. I say hi, how are you, he says good, how are you? I say I'm fine, thanks! And then I wait for him to ask me whatever he needs or whatever brought him to my desk. Silence. More silence. Really awkward length of silence. lol. So I kind of smile and look back to my computer and keep typing, figuring he'll head off. Newp. Finally, he says, "So... I wanted... I was going.... I thought maybe... I would ask... I thought.. ... ... How is your health?"
It seriously took everything in me to not bust out laughing. There is a pretty sizeable language barrier that makes conversations difficult sometimes anyway, and I know it must be SO HARD especially as a man to know how to approach something like that. Of course the PC answer is that it's none of his business to know or ask, but he is seriously SO sweet and just wanted to congratulate me. So I did chuckle and said "Yes, I'm pregnant!" lol. He goes, "Oh I am so happy for you! So many congratulations! Do you like Indian sweets! I will make soem for you." LOL

I'm not in my 3rd tri yet, but I've started it just last week.
I'm talking to my supervisor today about my plans for leave and coming back. ::::deep breaths:::: I know it'll be fine but I just hate having "talks". I want to work only 3 days a week, 10 hour days. If I do that I can still keep all my benefits. I plan to talk to HR next week after I tell work but want to run it by her first. Hopefully she's ok with the idea.

I'm going to be snickering about this all. day.
Lol!!! Poor guy, you can tell he is so sweet because he didn't want to make assumptions at all but he genuinely cared and didn't want to walk around like nothing is different.

Good luck! Do you work full-time, 5 days a week now? Does anyone else in your group work part-time? If you do not plan to use all of your FMLA for maternity leave, you may have an option to request FMLA for the time you won't be working if they aren't willing to let you work part time. That's only a temporary fix, but it may be an option.
Oh...and feel free to answer none of these questions. Lol. I'm in HR so I was just curious.

There are 2 people in another dept that work part time. Yes I work 5 days now. We do have the option in the company to work 4 longer days so I know I can get at least that. But I'd like to do only 3 so we'll see. It's a very family oriented company so I think saying it's because I'm having babies will help.
I have so many questions for HR once I talk to them. It doesn't help each company is different.
OH! And thank you to whoever felt bad about having a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast and confessed it here. I thought of you on my trip to the store yesterday and bought a bunch of bagels and cream cheese and it seriously made my day.

Oh that's awesome! It shouldn't be a problem for you at all then, especially since you are having twins.
I really want to be better about taking pictures. FI and I were looking through pics and realized we only have about 4 decent ones of us, I want to be much better once the baby comes. So, do you all own or are you planning to buy a camera for the baby? Or just use a cell phone? If a camera, what did you get?
We've used our phones as our cameras forever. We're finally buying a nice camera for baby and family pics. I think h has decided on the one he want and we need to order it this week. It's a canon of some sort and has some advanced features but also good auto settings while we learn how it works.
I'm sure we'll still use our phones for candids and everyday stuff, but we're excited to be getting a "real" camera.

I have a canon p/s I like but I would love a Canon Rebel for the babies. I use my phone a lot but still want a nice camera.
