You're telling me. She wants everyone to come over for lunch yet she hasn't offered to pay for any of said lunch. It is making me ragey. (MIL doesn't live with us, but apparently feels it is ok invite people over to our house.)

I think I'd probably peace out and let her deal with it.

ETA Or contact them directly and tell them you're so sorry for the miscommunication but it's just not going to work out for you guys.
