Yeah!!! Sounds like you are doing something right.
When I lost the 15 pounds from being in the hospital last fall, I knew it wouldn't last. Not eating for 3 weeks other than Dairy Queen Blizzards and a few bagels isn't healthy. I gained 7-8 of it back by the end of Feb. (and not sad I did--I knew it would), but I've kept the rest off by really watching what I've been eating and keeping portion sizes in control at dinner.
That's so awesome @vtcupcake! I noticed weight dropping a bit when I started doing HIIT and speed workouts. I used to always trudge along at 10:00 minute miles not matter if I was doing 2 miles or 15 miles - pace was always the same. Then one day about 18 months ago I was at an awesome hotel gym and started playing with the settings on the treadmill and found that I could easily do a 9:00 minute mile and things kind of took off from there.

Awesome job @vtcupcake! Since I started running I took off a quick 5 lbs. I think I've heard that by changing up your exercise type, intensity, etc that you are more likely to burn thru that plateau on weight loss and start the weight loss again.
Nice work - that's awesome!! I don't know for sure because I don't weigh myself, but it seemed to me that when I was including speed work and switching it up rather than repetitive miles, my body changed a bit for the better. And especially if you're getting more muscle too you'll burn more. I doubt it's all water weight.
I gained 15 pounds training for my marathons. I got in the best shape of my life once I started cross training (lifting and Crossfit). It's amazing what changing up the routine can do!
Yes! About a month ago I backed off to 30 miles a week and added in swimming and yoga in addition to my normal lifting time and I dropped about 5 pounds in 3-4 weeks. I'm picking it back up today.
