Vegas: Aria or Cosmopolitan?

Were looking at booking a trip to Vegas and would like a hotel rec! Specifically, I have my eye on the Aria and Cosmopolitan hotels. Can anyone share their experiences/blog posts on either of these hotels? I'm also open for other suggestions too- and for the record, I've stayed at The Palms, Encore, and the Luxor. Thank you!

I've stayed at Aria and Encore, and the rooms are way nicer in Encore but the location of Aria is much better. I haven't stayed at the Cosmo, but if the price is similar I'd probably go with that since it has such great reviews and it's a little newer.

i stayed at the cosmopolitan in december 2011. the hotel has a swank, fun, and modern atmosphere. i had a basic room - nothing special about it. the strong points of the hotel are definitely the public areas - lobby, lounges, casino, restaurants, pool and club (well, so i've heard. i've never been to the pool or the club .

my husband has stayed at the aria and the cosmopolitan. he thinks the aria's rooms are better, but the cosmopolitan's overall look, feel, and vibe are better than the aria.

We stayed at the Cosmo last June. loved it!!! We had a terrace studio I think it was called. HUGE bathroom with jacuzzi tub and crazy huge shower. Living room area, mini kitchen area, bedroom area, and balcony with amazing views of the strip. All the areas were opened to each other so it was like a studio apartment. Beautiful and sleek and clean.
The whole vibe of the hotel was awesome. Pools were great, we loved the restaurants (STK steakhouse was prob my fave). Good location on the strip too.

We stayed at the Cosmo last November and we really liked it. The room is huge! Our room was similar to what miss1180 described. The hotel definitely had a different vibe than the rest of the hotels we visited in the strip. I am sure the Aria is nice (I debated between the two as well) but I liked that the Cosmo was on the strip rather than a little set back.
