Today was week 2 day 1 of the app C25K recommended to me here. This was the first time that the routine increased (to 90 seconds running/2 minutes walking). It was very difficult for me today. My lungs were burning, my side was tight, & my legs felt like rubber. BUT I did the whole thing and felt great afterwards!
My goal is to run in the Cleveland Gay Games. I'm so excited!
ETA: I know this is a small accomplishment, but I'm not a runner at all and I need to focus on little progress to encourage myself.

Congrats! Actually on my run today I thought about my c25k days and how far I've come. I had to repeat every single week. If I can do it anyone can! You are doing great! Slow and steady. Pace and speed will come in time!!!!
Yay! Great job. I also did C25K to get into running. Best decision ever. I worked all the way up to ten miles and am considering a half. That program is great!
Don't be afraid to repeat a day (or week) if you don't feel confident with the intervals yet. And run only as fast as you can to finish the times. Speed will come - endurance is what this program builds.
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words, I really appreciate it!
I do like the program so far & am glad to see others who have had success with it. I think it's the best way for me to train, doing little by little. It is just such a foreign thought to me that I will be running 3 miles soon. It is very overwhelming to think about.

Awesome job! I'm right there with you - just finished week 2 today. It's hard but the feeling of accomplishment at the end is so worth it, isn't it? Keep up the great work!
ETA: just think in 7 weeks, you'll be able to run 3 miles! And it will happen. This is my second foray with c25K (worked up to the marathon last time) and as daunting as it seems now, I know you will be able to run more!

C25K gets recommended so often because it works so well! You'll be shocked when you can run 30 mins without stopping and not totally feel like dying. Good job!
