I did 3 Hour Endurance Mountain bike race today near Athens, GA. I used to love racing at the trails but hadn't done so in a few years. They are really twisty, rooty, rocky, and pretty technical. Some of the climbs are steep, and the downhills are fast. I raced my age group in Solo Women-Base. I had a good race. My legs felt good. My back held up unlike the last two races. It was sore on the way home and is still sore, but I don't feel like curling up in a little ball and dying. I have a feeling it will be better by morning.
I was about 90 seconds out of first place. The first place finisher and I were back and forth the entire time. I caught and passed her going into the third lap. She caught me a little while later and pulled off the win. I'll take second! I also placed fairly well overall for the solo women.
