We rescued a stray hanging out on out street. He is healthy, so I think he has to have an owner. Of course, he had no collar or microchip.
I've posted all over fb and we've made signs we're posting tomorrow. We are planning on looking for owners through the first of the week, then turning to rescues. We'd keep him, but 1) our dog tolerates him but is less than thrilled he is here and 2) he is 100% untrained and I know we can't be home enough during the day to train him properly.
The temps today and tomorrow Are much lower than normal. He's currently hanging out in our mudroom (he was in the backyard during the day) and tonight we're planning on keeping him in our old crate in the garage. He did fine in the crate today when we left twice for errands.
My concern is Monday. It will be much warmer and I'm worried the garage will be too warm. I could leave him in the back yard, but we have no shade whatsoever. If i didn't have a lunch meeting, I would just move the crate inside and take my dog to work with me. I'm just not sure how it would be having him in he crate inside and my dog not in one.

I wouldn't leave him in the back yard all day - shade or not. The crate seems like a good idea, but the garage could be risky. Could you put the crate inside, but in a bed room or bath room so it's separated from your loose dog?
