We are flying to the US and this is the first time we will use the airline baby bassinet. We usually have a seat for each kid but my son is 4 months and we are flying business (yeah!) and should fit in the airline bassinet fine... what do I need to know/bring? A baby blanket to put in the bassinet...? Anything else?
Jealous of the business class flights! There's nothing complicated about the bassinet though definitely be ready to hold the baby more than you'd think - if there's turbulence and for takeoff/landing they won't let the baby stay in there. I ended up holding my daughter a lot on the flight I had a bassinet on so I was really glad I brought her carrier on board.
Not sure if this works for you, but I know my son was starting to enjoy sitting up at that time (supported, of course). So we used my husband's neck pillow and kind of propped him up in the bassinet for a bit of play time. He enjoyed it. We also had those tethers for toys so he could play without throwing anything onto the floor.
He slept almost the whole flight, so this was really just a short bit of time, nothing to worry too much about.
Make sure they actually have basinets in business. I flew on my own with M to Turkey and didn't find out that Delta's 777 business configuration was incompatible with bassinets until I got to the airport.

This happened to me too with Delta. I called ahead to make sure I'd get a bassinet (also flying business), they said yes. I checked again as I was checking in, and then on the plane they said they didn't have one because they are not compatible for that plane. I was traveling on my own with DD for the first time, it was not fun. And to make matters worse, they didn't have changing tables in the bathrooms on the flight!!!
