So since there isn't a great place to look at several umbrella strollers at once (I've already checked out BRU & Target) can you provide any tips for me based on what I need?
Not too expensive (less than $200) Good for a short and a tall person (I'm 5'1", DH 5'11") Good for a skinny baby (DS is barely 14lbs, but is somewhat tall. He's just over 27 inches now) I plan to use this carting him a block or two each morning & afternoon when walking from my car to daycare this fall; Terrain includes gravel parking lot, city sidewalk. Will also take it traveling, so easy fold, unfold, and lightweight and durable.
Anyone have one that they love that fits the bill?
Do you have another stroller that you don't want to use? Or will this be your only stroller?
I don't consider the Britax B-Agile or City Mini an umbrella stroller, but I think they fit your criteria and if you find a sale, you could get it under $200 (City Mini is currently under $200 online at BRU and Amazon). I love my Britax B-Agile. Although, E is 19 pounds and it doesn't get super snug on him yet, but he's definitely not gonna fall out. Super easy to fold/unfold, gets pretty compact, good on all terrains, fine for shorties and I think OK for taller peeps, fairly lightweight, it is well made and durable and the extra big cover is nice in rain or sun.

We have the combi Cosmo stroller and it does the trick and it's inexpensive. Bkb was in it from six months to still one and she's 38ish lbs and well over three feet tall.

My primary stroller is the Chicco one that came with the car seat as a travel system. Too damn heavy and big. It is officially parked in the house and used only to tool around the neighborhood.
The other thing I use right now is the chicco seat onto the chicco stroller caddy. The caddy lives in my car, and I use it primarily when running errands, but now that he's way more active and wants to see everything he gets a lot more unhappy in that when he cant see what's going on. And we will be switching to a convertible seat soon (length reasons, not weight) and so I need an errand runner to live in the car instead of the caddy.
I was looking for a reclining umbrella stroller a few months ago for our trip to Disneyland and ended up deciding between the Uppababy G-Luxe and Maclaren Quest. We found a used Maclaren Quest on Craigslist and have been really happy with it. The Uppababy G-Lite is the non-reclining version of the G-Luxe. I believe the Maclaren Volo is their non-reclining version. I've also heard good things about the Chicco Liteway but personally preferred the Maclaren and Uppababy strollers.
