I attempted to for a run today and I was running under a bridge overpass. Pigeons hang out there all the time. I was doing my thing, checking out my pace on my watch, giving myself a little pep talk and BOOM a pigeon flew into me.
I had no idea what happened. I wasn't hurt, the pigeon flew away so I am assuming he wasn't hurt! I decided to call it a day and haul ass home.

This is really funny timing, because a bird flew into me during my run on Saturday. It's never happened to me before. The poor thing flew directly in front of my foot, so I accidentally kicked it. It flew away. It seemed ok, but it probably had the scare of its life.
During the same run, I saw a woman running on the trail wearing what looked like a long-sleeved floral dress (and running shoes). I'm not sure what to make of that.
I also saw some deer and a fox. That's not too unusual, but still cool.
Mangy looking rat in the day time, cue screaming at the top of my lungs because it is running toward my bike. Guy next to me (whom I don't know) is laughing hysterically. I miss the rat and only get a bit of his nasty tail.
Omg now I'm going to have to start watching out for crazy birds!
I've had packs of deer and antelope run across the road in front me while running here. One of these times I'm going to get run over by one, I swear.
Last week while running on the sidewalk in my neighborhood, my foot hit something and I tripped, staggered and nearly faceplanted into a brick structure at the end of someone's driveway. I saw my life flash before my eyes.
In the same run, I was waiting to cross the road. A car stopped to let me cross, I looked both ways and then started to cross. A stupid car came speeding behind the stopped car, paying no attention and slammed on his brakes and swerved. How he didn't rear end the stopped car or hit anything I still don't know. I was in the middle of the street watching this all go down and seeing my life flash before my eyes for a second time in 2 miles. I briefly considered calling it a day and finishing my run right there, because the world seemed out to get me that day.

I am so glad you lived to tell the story. That would have been enough for me. I would have gone home!
I forgot about when I did a race with bostonmichelle this past February. We were on a bridge and I was running along as this stupid kid was running on top of a snow bank. All of a sudden he came barreling down the snow bank and landed in front of me!
The bridge wasn't blocked off to traffic, so I was thankful I didn't trip over him and go crashing into traffic.

The worst part was those both happened 2 miles into an 18 mile run. lol I really considered being done right there and trying another day. Thankfully the rest of the run went fine

Following the bird theme... I got charged and chased by a large goose on the main road in my town. They like to hang out around the bridge at the marina and they can be pretty aggressive. I felt kind of silly backing away lol.
It's not wildlife, but at the end of my technical, single track trail 10k yesterday, this kid appears, walking against traffic! I couldn't believe the volunteers let him walk past them. So dangerous. I told him he needed to turn, and eventually he came back the right way, but sheesh. A bunch of us had to stop to get around him.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
When I lived in WI I got chased by two geese that were protecting their babies (which I wanted nothing to do with!). In CO on the trail I always ran on, I came around a corner and there were a few deer just hanging out right next to the trail that I had to run past. Luckily they just kinda watched me... On the same trail I ran by a huge bull snake (I think?) and surprisingly didn't have a heart attack. Think like a 4-6 foot snake. Terrifying. In HS I stepped on a bat. That was just kind of weird. Lastly I had a coyote run across my path earlier this year in my neighborhood.
I like animals, but they seem determined to scare the living day lights out of me!
Geese are mean!! There's basically an infestation of them around here. I pass no less than 20 of them on the 5 & 6 mile loop from my house. Now that they all have babies, it's nothing but a sea of hissing as I run by.
I kicked a squirrel once on a trail run, and have jumped off the sidewalk more than once to avoid a water moccasin.
I wasn't really exercising, but one time I was swimming in the ocean, when I see the surfers just in front of me jump up kneeling on their boards & staring down into the wave. It was a little freaky as I started to see a large, grey, mass come up from it (the surfers got a bit nervous as well.) The girl I was with immediately went screaming back to shore, but curiosity won out over fear. All of a sudden there were a bunch of bubbles, and a manatee popped up! It was so cool. Growing up in FL, I've seen hundreds in the springs, but that was the first, true, ocean sea cow sighting.

I'm scared of geese and swans- I had one come after me when I was on my bike once so now I'm scared when I come across them on a path, especially when they have babies around like this time of year.
I ran by a house where people had a dog tied out front (I did not notice the dog at first). Said dog turned out to be not a nice dog. What was he tied up by? A retractable leash, closed in the front door. The dog chases me and I have to run into the road to avoid a bite and thankfully a car was watching and didn't hit me, because I sure as hell didn't look. That would have sucked. "Woman avoids dog bite but unfortunately gets hit by vehicle."
I half run/walk with my hands on my chest thinking I am experiencing cardiac arrest. The car that avoided me drives by and the driver looks at me all wide eyed and sympathetic but they didn't stop to see if I was fine. Newp.
I didn't come into contact with them, but saw two deer crossing a river...like in it so far you could only see their heads, walking across. That was crazy to see, we all did a double take!
In FL, once, I jumped over a snake on my trail. Lucky for me, he didn't follow me.
In my neighborhood at 4:45am, I had just started my 20 mile run, and I ran into a fox. Again, luckily, he was more scared of me so he ran away. Scared the crap out of me though.
