Today has been great!
Great run, taught yoga, had to last minute sub the next class which was great and then sat out by the pool eating my lunch. Great so far!

I have a call scheduled for tonight with my coach about my upcoming HIM, and I'm a little nervous that she is going to try (again) to talk me into a wetsuit. We're now < 4 weeks out, I don't own a wetsuit, and have never raced in one. I did the same race last year so I have reason to think I know what I'm getting myself into, water temp wise. I hope she doesn't press the issue. I'm not comfortable with a wetsuit, period.

I am also upset with one of my training partners and am trying really really hard to get over it and move on. We're training for the same HIM. She's a much stronger runner than me; I'm a much stronger swimmer than she is. I was talking to her this weekend during one of our runs (which I was leading her on, btw) about pacing, because I'm struggling with that. I've improved so much in the last year that "HM pace" or "HIM run pace" isn't what it used to be, and I'm doing a lot of guessing. She was telling me that the paces I was hoping for were not realistic and I should scale them back considerably "because she holds X:00" and "X+1:00" is unrealistic for me. Maybe X+1:00 (i.e. 10:00 m/m) is unrealistic for me in a HIM, but maybe it isn't. Why shouldn't I try for it? And how it relates to her pace is completely irrelevant. It's not like there's some rule that I have to stay 1:30/mile slower than her!

Susie - I'd be super annoyed at that too. Not the same but similar, I had a friend once who assumed she was prettier than I was. I remember vividly once we were in Venice and some guys were looking and she said "Why are they staring at me like that?" And I thought "Bitch, maybe it's me their looking at." Anyway, you have every right to be annoyed by her comment and for pacing, I say, start at your old pace and pick it up from there if it feels right.

It took me 30 minutes to get everyone set up this morning but finally kids and dog were happy and entertained enough for me to get in a morning trainer ride. Which had to be done this morning because we're going to the Frozen themed night at our Chick-Fil-A this evening to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, haha!

My random - my language instructor recruited me to be a judge for a "Miss Teen Country X" local pageant this weekend, and I have to rank the candidates for "Miss Photogenic" tonight. I know very little about pageants and having to judge people makes me kind of uncomfortable. But pageant culture is also kind of fascinating at the same time.
