M: spin class, 6 miles T: 13 miles divided between jog stroller and gym TM, strength W: 10 miles Th: spin class, strength F: 5 mile run Sa: 8 miles w/ 3@tempo Su: 5 mile run M: Rest
Issues: I'm a little tired and sluggish on my runs, and my speed is slower than before my marathon. My mileage is down, but I'm running 6 days a week and added 2 days of spin. Next week is LASIK, so I'll have a very light week.
Highlights: um , following the IMTX ladies kamschw57! So proud of them! They trained hard and it paid off.
I have a 5 miler this weekend, 8K next month and July starts training for my first half in October. T: 3 miles, strength W: Ellipitcal hour of cardio Th: 3 miles, strength Fri: Rest Sat: 5 Mile race Sun: Run 3 miles
Headed to the dr later today to find out whats going on with this nagging heel pain I have. It has been going on for a few months but not gotten any better.
Highlights: discovering this board! All you ladies are so inspiring and it was cool to lurk this weekend and follow the IMTX!
cinco, good luck with the LASIK! I had it 4 years ago, and it was a breeze! I hope your procedure and recovery goes as well as mine did!
What are you training for? Date? Metric Marathon on 9/21.
Training schedule for the week? M: Easy 3 mile run T: Speedwork on the track with my group. I seriously love running on the track. It's so smooth and bouncy, lol. W: Rest T: 6 mile moderate pace F: Rest S: 10 mile group run S: Easy run M: Memorial Day 5K
Any issues or vents? The ankle still. I tried wearing my shoe inserts to raise it up a little higher, thinking the side of the shoe won't hurt the bone. They definitely helped with that, but I feel like I'm running with concrete shoes- they are so heavy and stiff. But I am going to try to get through the next few runs with them to let things heal.
Highlights or AW's from last week? 5K PR. It was a small race, so it was just one step above a training run, but I'm counting it anyway! 25:15. I am going to run for my life on Monday to hopefully get under 25:00!
What are you training for? Date? MCM - 10/26 ~ a month till shit gets real 5Ks - I can't stop signing up for them!!
Training schedule for the week? M - 4m + strength T - 6x800, probably will be 7 miles total with warm up and cool down W - 10m Th - cross F - rest Sat - 5k + strength Sun - cross M - 8-10m

Issues: Balancing wanting to run and wanting to walk with my mom. I want her to get out but need to find time to run as well.
Highlights: Watching the board this weekend for the IMTX ladies. It was inspiring! I also returned to WW which felt good.
What are you training for? Date? Chicago Ragnar Relay w/ @vtcupcake and skwcm80 - 6/6 & 6/7

Any issues or vents? legs are super tired and sore - I ran 3 days in a row! 5 on Sat, 3 mile run and 15 mile bike on Sun and 4.5 mile run yesterday
Highlights or AW's from last week?
My speed is slowly coming back - pace average has been at 8:30 the last couple of runs
What are you training for? Date? Working my way through NROLFW.
Training schedule for the week? 4A yesterday, 4B tomorrow, 4A Saturday. Possibly taking DD swimming after working out tomorrow and Saturday.
Any issues or vents? Just started stage 4 yesterday, after stage 3 dragged on with a week and a half off for illness and a week off while I was out at a conference. That sucked. 4A yesterday sucked. I don't know if it was because I hadn't done those exercises in a long while or I hadn't fueled properly or what, but I couldn't do as many full pushups as I had hoped and had to cut my planks down to 60 seconds, when I just did 90-second planks less than a week ago. My right shoulder is hypermobile, so I think the push presses and pushups may have irritated that issue before I even got to the planks.
Highlights or AW's from last week? I worked all the way up to doing 3 2-minute long prone cobras last week and did 90-second planks for all of stage 3 (except for one day when I had shoulder issues).
What are you training for? Date? Random 5ks over the summer
Training schedule for the week? DH has been home since last Sunday, so I got to sneak in a few more miles than usual last week:
Mon: 7.25 mi run Tues: 7 mi run Wed: off Thurs: 7.25 mi run Fri: off Sat: 5k race + 3mi cool down Sun: 7 mi run
Any issues or vents? Same old, same old. I felt every ounce of extra weight I'm still carrying during my 5k on Saturday. I have overactive fork syndrome and need to get a grip. It's the main issue stalling any improvement right now.
Highlights or AW's from last week? Loved watching kams and chw57 throw it down.

What are you training for? Date? local 5k 6/1, BAA 10k 6/22, Michelob Half 9/14, Kiawah Half 12/13
Training schedule for the week? Mon - rest Tues - 3-4 slow miles Wed - rest Thurs - rest Fri - 1 hr intervals Sat - cousin's wedding so dancing my butt off Sun - 6 mile run
Any issues or vents? I did something to my ankle I think 2 weekends ago and it bugged me all week last week especially after running a 5k. It feels a lot better yesterday and today, so hopefully I can get a couple miles in on the treadmill tonight.
Highlights or AW's from last week? Meeting @vtcupcake, mcc, and lauren170 and watching kams and chw57 at the IMTX
Post by bluedaisyus on May 20, 2014 8:43:06 GMT -5
What are you training for? Date? Half Marathon on 10/19. And also I signed up for a 5k this Sunday, because why not?
Training schedule for the week? 2 miles tonight, 1 mile Thursday is my plan right now. We'll see how that pans out.
Any issues or vents? I've been obsessing about bikes since my friend suggested that I should get back into it and think about duathlons, but I really can't afford to get one right now. Sigh. Also my butt hurts (get your minds out of the gutter, it's from working in the garden on Sunday).
Highlights or AW's from last week? I'm just super excited for kams and chw57 and their amazing IMTX finishes!
What are you training for? Date? Springfield 5K 5/31, Potomac River Run Marathon 11/16 (officially signed up
Training schedule for the week? Mon-6 easy miles, Tues-Rest, Wed - 8 x 200 + 4 miles warmup/cooldown, Thur - 6 miles, Fri - Rest or stretching session?, Sat - 6 miles with 4 at race pace?, Sun - 11 miles
Any issues or vents? Hip is feeling better. I stopped carrying DD's infant seat which I think might have been contributing. I've been stretching nicely after my runs. I decided to rethink my schedule and to cut down from 6 days of running to 5 and just increase the mileage. I'll add in a stretching/strength session or just have two rest days.
Highlights or AW's from last week? Despite only running for 3 days, I had a pretty good week H&F wise since I recommited to my diet. I saw 120 on the scale for the first time in my adult life after my long run. I also signed up for the marathon and got a Thank You e-mail from the race director. Gotta love small races.
What are you training for? Date? Ragnar 6/6 & 6/7. enfuego23 & @vtcupcake only two and a half weeks to go. Aaah!
Training schedule for the week? M: strength T: 6 mile tempo W: strength Th: 7 miles (am) 5 miles (pm) F: 4 miles S: rest Su: 2 miles plus core
Any issues or vents? no
Highlights or AW's from last week? due to my inability to map out running routes well, I ended up running 22 miles over the weekend. The plus side is that I finally feel completely confident to train for Chicago[.
And tracking the IMTX ladies as well. I was glued to my laptop for almost the entire day.
M - Off Tu - 3-4 mi run W - Lift Th - Off F - 3-4 mi run Sa - 6 mi run Su - Lift
I haven't worked out in a week due to being sick. I've basically been napping as much as possible during my free time because sleep at night is still so spotty with DD. Fortunately no one else in the house caught my crud though, and I'm feeling much better today so time to get back on the horse!
What are you training for? Date? Mad River comp, June 28. Tristate Throwdown, August 9. Maybe a July comp.
Training schedule for the week? MTTFS.
Any issues or vents? Allergies are going to be the death of me.
Highlights or AW's from last week? Like I said in my AW thread, I just feel really good right now. I'm going to ride that progress pony until it won't go anymore.
What are you training for? Date? Run to remember half marathon. This Sunday!
Training schedule for the week? I am tapering. I did 6 miles today. I will rest tomorrow. 5 on Thursday. I was thinking of doing 2-3 on Friday. Saturday I will be at the expo and picking up my bib so sort of resting.
Any issues or vents? My foot has been hurting since thursday. The first time in my whole training this has happened. It feels bruised or like I pulled something. I have decided to ignore it and worry about it after my race. I am super nervous for Sunday. I have moments where I feel really confident and moments I freak out and panic (this is my first half)
Highlights or AW's from last week? Not that I can think of sadly

Random 5ks - next one is on 5/31
Training: m- 2.5 T - 2 with hills F - 2.5 S- 4? We head up to the poconos so we shall see.
Issues - ankle is continuing to bother me. My hill run this morning was pretty sucktastic.
AWS- being able to run my entire 5k on Sat. Additionally I think I've finally transitioned in to a morning runner. I used to always just crave the extra sleep but now I'm out the door and going. I was pissed at myself all day yesterday for skipping the morning run. Especially when I had to do it in the evening when it was much, much warmer.
What are you training for? Date? Renewed focus on 5K/10K -- possibly a half next month if I can find one
Training schedule for the week? Mon- unplanned off day (up at 3 am loading the corn planter) Tues- 4 miles w/ 2 @ 5K pace Wed - 4-5 easy Thurs - off Friday - long 8-10 Saturday - probably off Sun- a few miles??
Any issues or vents? I can't seem to get going in the mornings since marathon taper. I'll get up, let out the dogs, but then drink coffee, check weather/ email on my phone, & end up with an 80 lb. bulldog curled on my lap. I need to just get going in the morning! No looking at my phone!
Highlights or AW's from last week? I managed two miles approaching 5K pace this morning. I ran SO many miles of 5-10 seconds under marathon pace this spring but lacked on 5K pace and faster repeats. So I was happy to at least see 7:45/miles this morning.
What are you training for? Date? Mountain bike racing in general with several races coming up
Training schedule for the week? Sat.-3 hour mountain bike race, Sunday-60 minute recovery ride, Monday-massage, Tuesday-25 mile hilly group ride, Wed.-2 hour mountain bike ride, Thursday-25 mile hilly, hard group ride. Friday-Sat. Off (have a non-bike commitment). Time wise the next 2 weeks will be two of my lightest training weeks of the summer
Any issues or vents? Still dealing with my back injury.
Highlights or AW's from last week? Got 2nd in my age group at the mtb race last Sat.

What are you training for? Date? Super-sprint tri (200 yd swim, 8 mile bike, 2 mile run) 6/1/2014; Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon 10/19/2014; maaaaaybe a sprint tri in September?
Training schedule for the week? M: off T: run 3-4 miles W: swim 30 minutes; bike 30 minutes Th: speedwork F: swim S: 20 miles on the bike S: run 7 miles
Any issues or vents? I posted about this the other day, but I met a friend to ride on Sunday. I texted her beforehand and asked if she still wanted to ride even though it was drizzling out. She said yes. I got out of bed, dressed and drove 20 minutes. Once I met her, she decided she didn't want to ride in the rain. So, I skipped my bike ride on Sunday.
Highlights or AW's from last week? running is going well

What are you training for? Date?
5K on July 20th. Unfortunately I'm not finding any local 10Ks for the fall (weird!) but maybe they have yet to be scheduled. If there aren't any, there's a 15K in December I can probably do, and then hold off on a half until spring.
Training schedule for the week?
I began Week 3 of C25K this morning.
Any issues or vents?
I need to remember to stretch before my workouts! I definitely felt uncomfortable during the running portions and I could tell it was due to lack of stretching. I forgot how important it is.
Highlights or AW's from last week?
Just that I've been working out every day I've set out to work out since the start of C25K.
Boo I got not such great news at the doctor. I have an achilles injury so I will be not be running that race this weekend or much at all for the next 6 weeks or so depending on how it heals. What a bummer. Now I guess i'm going to focus on strength training and losing some lbs so I can start half training leaner and stronger.
