I'm SO FRUSTRATED. I'm currently in a boot and on crutches to allow my foot to heal. It's likely just tendonitis, but they did an x-ray yesterday and called me today saying there's a "questionable" spot at the base of my pinky toe, and I need to stay off it all week and come back Friday for a follow up and more x-rays.
On top of that, I'm getting my FIFTH STYE in the past couple months. I've never gotten any before in my life, and now it's nonstop. I want to rip my eyeballs out!!! I have absolutely no idea why they keep happening and it's AWFUL! MAKE THE MADNESS STOP!!
Also, my BFF/FWB(/BF???) here is being a tool today. We're at a conference together, and he's being a grumpy little twit and I'm annoyed with him. I told him as much. I hate arguing with him.
My now ex (the one who was going to be moving in until he freaked out due to his intimacy issues - he had a HORRIBLE childhood, so I understand that, but it was very frustrating to deal with) is being a dip. We were trying to remain friends, since the breakup had nothing to do with us not getting along - he just wasn't ready for something serious, and I can understand that. But I don't see the friendship happening. I've made my peace with it. It's just a bummer because I really enjoyed his company - even as a friend. He was a great running partner.
Also, because of the new ACA, I'm losing my job in August. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for universal healthcare. This just sucks. Now I have to either find something else, or find a new (super cheap) apartment. And finding a super cheap apartment that will accept two large dogs is NOT easy in this town.
That deserves a thread all it's own! You're dealing with so much! *hugs*
You're a strong woman, I know you'll get through it. In the meantime, keep breathing. And vent anytime you need!
My whine - I'm supposed to go meet a friend for drinks/dinner b/c it's her birthday but I'm so. tired. And my related confession is that I got her a bag of dark chocolate sea salt caramels for her birthday hoping she will share.
When it rains, it pours. Ug! You poor gal. Good luck w/ the job hunt and hope the relationship stuff sorts itself out too.
I'm crossing my fingers that your foot is ok! You'll have to let us know what you find out. I'd say wine, chocolate, or whatever you like is in order tonight.

Thanks all. I was having a rough day yesterday. Holding out hope that today will be better. So far, so good.
The bummer now is that all I want to do is get out for a run. I'm all motivated and inspired by my great first 18 miles from Sunday and I can't! I'm so antsy!!!
I'm so sorry you're going through this. With the stye, any chance you have sensitive skin, rosacea or dry eye? I got diagnosed with blepharitis, which basically means I'm much more prone to styes and chalazions; I got diagnosed by my optometrist when I had my 3rd stye in 2 months. If you have a high magnification mirror, you may see tiny flakes on your eyelashes and that's causing the irritation. I use the Bausch & Lomb eye wash every few days, and if I feel like they're getting sore again I can use Johnson baby shampoo with warm water and washcloth to gently wash the eyelids. I avoid powder eye makeup and mascara; no styes in 4yrs now. Not great news if this is the case for you, but that may help. Hope your foot feels better soon!

Thanks! I will check that out. I've been washing my eyes with baby shampoo every morning, and not wearing any makeup. I've also stopped wearing my contacts. The last stye I had resolved last week, and I only wore contacts (a brand new pair) for a couple hours on Sunday for my race, and then immediately took them out and haven't worn them since. The new one is in my other eye, so I don't think it's because of those. They're also in different eyes/locations in the eye, so it's not the same one that keeps getting irritated.
I'm wondering if it's because of dry eyes. I moved to Boulder, CO in August and have only had them since moving here - where it is significantly drier. My contacts were bothering me a lot once I moved here. They always felt dry and scratchy. I'll be making an appointment with an optometrist ASAP. I don't know if they have one at the school med place (it's a pretty nice office - H&F will appreciate this - they have a whole floor that is nothing but sports medicine, and my orthopedist in there is a former pro cyclist), but if not, I'll find one.
In good news, I graduated off the crutches today! Now it's just a boot. Hooray!

Sorry things are going rough Regina!
I have one. I'm still in china and since flying up to Beijing I have had no time whatsoever to squeeze in a workout. I went the first day and had an awful awful hot hot attempt of a run on the treadmill. Yesterday I was on the clock from 7:30am until 2, and then meetings today also beginning at 7:30. The work is great but I am sleep deprived and feeling blech. Also it is hot and Beijing air conditioners are not great. Pity party for one.

Mine changed eyes/location too, for whatever reason they just no longer cleared out properly. The drier air and higher elevation out west could definitely play a part. Good luck, and congrats on the boot! Hope the other things get a bit easier too, it's never fun when so many issues collide at once.
Ug I hate styes! I get them too and they are epic. My last one wouldn't go away for months.
If you decide to start wearing eye makeup again- definitely throw away everything you have and buy new and wash all your brushes with shampoo regularly. I bought these eyelid wipes that are individually wrapped (like moist towelettes almost. I keep some at home, in my purse and at work and use them to clean my eyes all the time.
I can't wear eyeshadow anymore, but mascara seems to be okay. If I go out on a date (LOL, what's that?) or have to give a presentation or something, I put some on and then take it off the second I walk back in the door.

Oh wow, that would have me curled up in a ball with a pint of something...liquor, ice cream, maybe both. Hope it turns around soon.
Jumping back on the H&F band wagon is not going as easily as I hoped. I'm very lazy by nature and getting up at 4:30 am to go to a grueling, and I mean grueling, boot camp is not my cup of tea. Yesterday, apparently I got up....put on my clothes and went back to bed. I kid you not. The next thing I know I am waking up two hours later at a "normal" time. Running is going slowly too. I slowed waaay down. My 2:20 goal for September may not be a reality. It's early yet but damn...it sucks.
