Hmm... when I lived in St. Louis I remember a commercial for Dirt Cheap Liquors - the last bastion of the persecuted smoker - that ended with the tag line "the more she drinks the better you look" and the owner and his wife waving to the camera.
Then there was the furniture store that reminded it's shoppers that it was closed on the Lord's day.
All this is to say, I don't have too much faith in St. Louis commercials...
oh no!! these are my people - 618 area code. sorry.
Eeeeeeast Siiiiiide! LOL
I haven't seen this commercial yet, but it doesn't surprise me. Some of our locally produced and broadcast commercials couldn't possibly be any cheesier or worse produced. Remember when Becky's Carpet and Tile was in business and making all of those horrible flying carpet commercials???
I believe he owns another smaller chain of liquor stores now and he also is a regular guest on 105.7's morning show "craigslist freak of the week" segment. It's hilarious to hear him read some of those ads... LOL

Yeah I can actually think of TWO big STL furniture stores that boast that. LOL

That was Fred and I love him. He got fired from Dirt Cheap (he was just their spokesperson) and now owns his own place, Cheapo Deapo across the street from them. He reads the Craigslist Freak of the Week ads on the point and it's hilarious.
I can't recall a furniture place that closes for "the Lord's Day", but one of our biggest ones always talks about rescuing pets, spaying and neutering and how bad puppy mills are at the end of their commercials. I love them.
As far as the OP, nope. Not claiming them @majorwife

I believe that's Carol House, and they are one of them I'm thinking of closing on the Lord's Day. The other one is I think, Goedekers.
ETA: Just looked up Carol House and they are the one who advocate for pets but not the one who closes on Sunday. LOL

Godekers, that was it! I don't remember one that talked about siding and neutering. I was support that. Of course I was a college kid back then so "support" wouldn't equal buying anything from them.
Do you remember when Becky lost all the weight and got a makeover?
Yeah, and shortly afterwards she went out of business! Well at least the Fairmont City IL store did (my H's grandma lives close to where that store used to be... just down the road from the Cahokia Mounds and Fairmont Race Track.) Not sure about the rest of her stores.
I made the mistake of showing DH this thread and now he's down the rabbit hole of STL commercials. I am now acquainted with Queen Becky as well as Wanda Princess of Tile, and I had to watch the Wehrenberg Theaters intro music (the version with the Bah Bahs, not the version I know where they whisper Wehrenberg all super creepy).

I regret this post.
Becky threw Wanda off the carpet and no one ever saw her again. For realz.
I know both versions well. I go to the movies about once every 3 years and last time I went I was pissed it was so different!
And how do you people all leave?? I thought it was law that once you lived here you could never leave ala Hotel California!!! At least that's how I feel.

Well, I knew that I was there for a limited time (grad school), had to move to freaking Kansas and then back to Central MO. But we still visit StL on about a monthly basis.

I'm still stuck in the same backwoods SEMO area I was born and raised in. I would move up there in a heartbeat if my redneck H didn't have a panic attack every time we drive north of Arnold. LOL

Haha. I left to get my PhD. But our plan is to move back, or to @majorwife's town in a few years.

Aww, DH is from a backwoods SEMO town. We haven't been since Christmas b/c I loathe it They're famous for throwing food in his town, if you know what I mean.
I've never even eaten there. I do not have time to wait 2 hours to eat massive amounts of artery clogging southern style food. I'll clog my arteries with pizza and beer, TYVM.
