E is pulling himself up to stand now. So, more trouble! I bought him some sandals that are too cute. And we bought a convertible car seat, although I haven't installed it yet. He's growing up so fast!
In the mornings he usually sits in his crib chatting with himself for a while before I go get him up. The other day he was sitting in their chatting away and I walked in quietly and he didn't realize I came in, then he turned and saw me and got so scared, he jumped up like he saw a burglar and then laid his head down in the bed and cried. It was so sad and cute at the same time.
Blb got scratched in the face by our cat last night really badly. It was so sad. She had big bloody claw marks all down her forehead and now she cries to be picked up whenever the cat comes near her.
I can't decide on a good story. They are all great and make me want to leave work to pick her up.
This is her resting on me yesterday after a long day at daycare. Compared to one week old.
work has been insanely busy for me lately. i'm getting into the swing of things, and i'm really enjoying my new team. i work regularly with 2 groups..and in the past (before bjl) i hated one group, and loved the other..before boy, i swapped, but still loved one and not the other. this time, we seem to have gotten it right. both of my teams are great to work with. i'm more productive at work, and i don't dread do anything. it's not bad....so that would explain my MIA-ness.
boy is 7 months today! he is crawling, pulling up to stand, saying mama at least a few times each day...he is being SO good! we can let him crawl on the floor by himself for 30 mins before he starts to wonder why we aren't holding him. it makes folding laundry actually attainable!
bjl spent the entire day diaper-free yesterday, with no accidents. she even woke up in the middle of the night and ask to go pee (she was wearing a diaper at night). NOT excited about this one, but at least i sent h to go and i didn't have to .
I am doing much better with getting J to sleep in the pack n play at night and during naps. I would love to have her in the crib but we still haven't even started on removing the drywall in M's new room yet so it will still be a while
J is 5 months and I just love her to pieces. She is so mellow, and working on sitting up. She loves food so we are doing a half purees and half BLW approach this go around. M is doing well. I went and toured the local Y to see about swim lessons for her and it looks like we will give it a go this next session. A membership for her allows her to take 2 different type of classes so we are going to do swimming and then might try dance or gymnastics depending on which one goes best with our schedule. I am so excited for her. She has been a bit of a butt lately especially at night which is not normal. So I am working on deep breathing and discipline. Also I am working on planning her 1/2 birthday for July, hopefully it works out.
I can't believe I am almost to 36 weeks! The days are slow but the months are fast I suppose. I had my shower last weekend and several family members decided I'm having a girl. As in they bought very very girly clothing. They did include receipts but claim I won't need them. I think they just ensured this will be a boy lol. My blood pressure jumped up quite a bit so the midwives are going to start seeing me more often to monitor and she asked "you can stop work whenever right? That won't be a problem?" And then laughed when I said I really want to make it until June 17th. So now I'm nervous and trying to get my classroom in order just in case. I've also been really crampy and having constant Braxton Hicks if I am up and doing things. Come on June 17th....get here faster....

I'm late with this week's contribution because my job is eating me alive. I have a major event coming up in two weeks that is just an absolute clusterf*ck and I am at my wit's end trying to coordinate all the players. I know everything will turn out beautifully in the end, but I am just so exhausted and frustrated (not to mention hormonal) and I just want to come home at the end of every day and cry into a bottle of wine ... which of course, I can't do.
With that said, I have a fun story from this week! I convinced Dan to read to my belly a few nights ago. My aunt sent me Big Red Barn and Goodnight Moon, and I've been reading them to the baby because they're bouncy and rhyme-y and she seems to like them. So I encouraged Dan to read to her this time, and to put his hand on my belly, and she was moving like CRAZY. He was so taken aback - it was only the second time he's been able to feel her. His reactions were really cute.
Tori that's really cute that your H got to experience that. I never did get comfortable with my H touching my belly and now I regret it.
He's not super comfortable with it either, but I talked him into it He also gave me some serious side-eye when I first suggested that he read to her, and even MORE when I was like, "DO THE ANIMAL NOISES! YOU'RE NOT DOING THE ANIMAL NOISES!" But I figure if he has to put up with all the annoying stuff (aka. me complaining all the time), he should at least get to experience some of the fun stuff, too!
toratoratori that is so cute! Obviously he needed to do the animal noises! If you're going to read a book you better to it right! I make the baby listen to our first dance song every night.
My cousin made a little painting for the baby's room with "happy as the sun" across it. She tagged Tyrone (we're on a first name basis) and he commented on it We're practically besties now.
