IDK. I'm curious to know...I was induced, but able to labor with a low-level of pitocin (and I was already dialated to almost 3 cm when I was admitted, so it'l likely I would have gone into labor on my own with a week or so, anyways.
I'm not curious enough to get pg again any time soon, but curious. I wonder if my mom knows this info about her mother and how it relates to her labor with me and/or my sister.
I never labored but my mom had all back labor all 3 times, so I was expecting that's what I would have had. We had similar pregnancies (ie killer heartburn).

With me, my mom didn't know she was in labor (she was only in her seventh month), wasn't feeling good, all the sudden realized there was a baby's head, pushed once and out I came. (At home. By herself.) With my brother, she was induced, but I think her entire labor and delivery was about an an hour.
I labored something like 15 hours, with 1 hour of pushing, with Beckett, and labored about 11 hours with 6 minutes of pushing with Maisy. So no, my experiences were quite different from my mom's.

Mine was pretty similar in length to my mom's. I'm kind of curious if this one will be a similar length to my mom's second labor. If it is, my midwife better hurry once I call her!
I was induced and my mom never was, but the induction went great, I progressed well, and I kept exceeding my doctor's expectations. Well, except when I pushed and her head started swelling and ended up with a c/s.

I think my mom's labor with me was pretty typical, definitely a lot shorter than mine (31 hours) and didn't end in a c-section.
With my sister, her water broke first (which is what happened to me) and while her labor wasn't as long as mine, it did end with a true emergency c-section (vertical cut).

My mom said:
My sister, the first.... about 3-4 hours Me-- about the same... She does not remember exactly ...however, it was NOT long --- She just remembers my Dad had a camera with my sis and she was saying "TAKE that camera away"...actually she was screaming take that camera away...
She waited until the pains were pretty regular.
It hurts but a quick pain to forget.
*Changed her I's to Me's, etc. ---- Hoping for a 3-4 hour birth. That would be amazing. ha.

For my mom, I was 2 weeks late so they ended up doing a C-section when they realized my mom had lost a lot of amniotic fluid and I was in distress.
For my labor, my water broke 2 weeks early and I was only in labor for 8 hours and out popped B.
So our labor was really different, however, my mother and I both got pregnant in the first month of trying, and her mom (my nana) was also very fertile so I was wondering if that was some kind of hereditary thing.
My sister and I have had totally different labor experiences and they differed greatly from my mom. My sister went from 6 hours with first to 4 hours with second and third. I labored for 12 with my DD. My mom had terrible births, but I know hers were incredibly long and ended up in c-sections with some.
Not even close. Actually, there are two similarities: we both gave birth to our babies on Thursdays and both me and my baby were born 2 days after our due dates.
With me, my mom woke up at 6:00 a.m. with contractions, went to the hospital a few hours later, got to her room and went to the bathroom, and her water broke as soon as she got to the toilet. I was born after 7 hours or so, at 1:21 p.m. I think she pushed for 20 min.
I don't remember how long her labor with my sister was, but she was 2 weeks early and I know my mom has said it went quickly. She actually said she spent the last few weeks feeling like the baby would fall out any day, lol!
On the other hand, for me, my water never broke and I ended up with a c-section after 91 hours of labor. Maybe I can't compare b/c she had vaginal births and I didn't, but I sure tried like crazy to get there.
Apparently my grandmother had some rough labor experiences. So in our family, nobody has taken after their moms - my mom had a much easier time that her mother did, and I had a much more difficult time than my mother did.
