I am stuck at home today with a sick kid and the people installing our new AC. Excuse me while I pass out at the thought of how much this is costing us. Sigh. Yay home ownership.
We have a pretty fun weekend planned. My SIL's family and MIL are coming to visit, the carnival is in town, BBQ's, and nice weather. Yay!
Anyone have anything exciting or not so exciting to share and entertain me/distract me from the sound of our bank account being depleted ?
Ack, what a bummer! I hope the rest of the weekend goes well!
There's a tournament in town that we will watch a bit of, and then on Sunday afternoon we are having a little post-Ironman BBQ. We're doing Texas-themed food and m-dot cookies (I totally bought a cookie cutter in the merch tent, lol). And lots of cocktails, obviously.
Monday we may take the SUPs to the lake for the first time this year. The water is still really cold though!
I've been out of town for the past 4 weekends and we will finally be staying home thank god. Probably mostly working on getting the house organized because the ILs are coming to stay with us next Friday for graduation (!!!!). We are also going to a dog gathering through our trainer to start working on better socializing this beast we adopted, so that's going to be really interesting.

But will you have Texas-shaped tortilla chips??
Hahahahaha! I can't find any of those here! BUT, I'm totally making your Texas caviar!
.....my wallet's draining as we speak. "Major" 1st world problems in our home this week and we now have a garage door repair guy AND a dishwasher repair guy at our house racking up bills. But I will be so happy when both are working again On a more fun note, I'm going shopping at lunch to buy some new shorts because mine are all too big (yay!), as well as try to find something to wear to my alumni weekend next weekend. I have no fashion sense other than I want to look good and be comfortable. Luckily it's all casual.
Weekend randoms- nothing specific planned other than seeing some friends, doing some yardwork and getting my flowerboxes planted. Looking forward to it!
My sister is coming this evening. We're going to a winery tomorrow. We'll see how that goes with the kids.
Getting a new sofa Sunday!
Monday we're taking DS to see the Nats. It's the first game we've been to in a few years and the first one where he actually understands about baseball and the Nationals (his favorite team). I'm really excited about this. I hope he has fun.
Hoping to get some nice runs in Saturday and Sunday morning! The weather looks awesome!
We're going to try to go strawberry picking and will have a small birthday party for my youngest (H is OOT, so we're waiting til he gets back for a real party). I'm also a judge for a teen pageant on Sat and Sunday, which should be interesting. And the pool in my building finally opens this weekend, so we'll go for a swim.

It should be a good weekend, although my wife is working OT for the whole thing (including Monday). She has to be there at 6am, but at least that means she's home by 3pm or so and we have plenty of time to do things in the afternoons/evenings. The weather is supposed to be fabulous!
Let's see...I worked over a couple of days this week so I'm going to flex it out and leave early today. I'm headed up to my LRS to pick up my packet for Sunday's run and will probably get new shoes while I'm there. I think other than that we're going to just hang out at home and maybe do some work in the yard. And maybe a family movie night on the couch.
We'll see what we get into tomorrow, but I think we're going to grill out. Sunday my mom is coming over to hang out with the boy while I go to the run.
Monday my mom, sister and I are taking the boy to the zoo to see a new exhibit that I'm really excited about!

DH and DS are up in NY visiting some family. Ahhhh, a couple glorious nights of uninterrupted sleep!
I plan to take DD out for a lunch/movie date tomorrow. We'll probably BBQ when they get home Sunday, and catch up on housework Monday. I'm actually relieved not to be going anywhere.

Bummer. Well at least, it's better now than during the first heatwave of the summer?
I need to get my ass to the gym this weekend. Or out for a run. Or something. I haven't worked out all week. :/ DD is going through some sort of sleep strike and I just can't drag myself out the door when I'm trying to function on 5 hours of interrupted sleep.
Monday we're going to our first Braves game of the season, and DD's first game too. I have no expectation that we'll last more than a couple of innings but I can't wait to have a hot dog and a beer!
I'm working tomorrow morning, then have a few hours of glorious baby free time after because my mom is taking AJ down to Cinci for a family lunch (J has to work so I need a babysitter anyway, but I'd be going with them if I wasn't working). I'm hoping to get up before dawn to get a run in, and will be weeding/mulching/drinking beer when I get home.
Sunday involves more of the same (running, mulching) and stopping by our neighbors' housewarming party before dinner at my parents.
Monday, my parents are watching AJ and J and I are going to the practice round for the golf tournament that's going on next week with our old roomie and his wife. YAY DRINKING AND NOT WADDLING AROUND THE COURSE LIKE LAST YEAR!
This thread is making me pretty happy we decided to go ahead and keep renting til I'm done with residency. Home ownership terrifies me - yet another sign of my dysfunctionally prolonged adolescence, I guess. Thanks med school!

I spent half the week eating like I was a starving HERD of elephants -- so much crazy hunger. Then ran a faster than usual 10mi last night, and spent 3 hours feeling like absolute shit with many bio breaks and I'm still really wonky. Note to Self: Don't eat like crap and expect everything to be okay.
Because of that NOTHING is packed for the 3 day backpacking trip we're leaving for tonight. Which means I need to leave work early so we can still get to our meet up place on time...which means I should be doing work, which I'm not.
/end rant
/start AW
We're going to Canyonlands for 3 days of backpacking and I'm really excited about it! I haven't been there before and feel a little unprepared, but I'm excited to go check it out on foot and actually do a little warm weather camping!
I have a 40 question Econ test standing between me at the holiday weekend. As soon as I take the test then we're getting together with friends tonight, 5K in the morning (goal is 24:00), pancake celebration after the race, and game day food on Sunday for Indy 500. I'm pumped!

Yay for getting new shorts! I just bought a pair of olive green Bermuda shorts at J Crew and Jean Bermudas at JCP (only $20 in the juniors section, so had to size up). This is the first summer in a LONG time that I feel confident enough to rock shorts and tanks.
Great job on your weight loss! Getting new clothes due to weight loss is fun!

Going to Austin tomorrow to have one final day of prep before the movers come next week. DH and the ILs are coming this time, so we should be able to get the place ready with so many hands on deck. Changing some light fixtures, assembling some furniture, and cleaning up the layers of dust that are on EVERYTHING from the remodeling.
Sunday we'll just decompress at home. DD1 has school on Memorial Day (the school district is using it as a make-up day from a weather cancellation in the winter, booooooo). DH leaves town for work Monday evening. Next week will be mayhem with moving and school ending, so I'm trying to enjoy the calm before the storm.
We have been way over scheduled, so I'm looking forward to an easy weekend. Just visiting a little with my parents, going to a Greek food festival (yum!), and doing a 5k on Monday.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
Cleaning, organizing, and baby proofing. I think Im going to buy some of DH's favorite expensive drinks to bribe him. He gets cranky on house cleaning days.
