This weekend is the "training camp" weekend on my HIM plan. 3 days of omg:
Sat: 3:00 bike + 1:00 run Sun: :45 swim + 2:30 bike + :30 run Mon: 1:00 bike + 2:00 (or 13 mile) run (whichever comes first)
It will be almost 11 hours of training in the space of 3 days. I'm a little nervous.
Holy hell. This is one of the biggest reasons I just can't wrap my head around triathlons. Yes, I know this is for a HIM & not a sprint, but I could train up to 60+ MPW for a marathon and still be hours under this.
Go go kill it this weekend! I don't know how you all do it.

You and me, we're on the same wavelength here. I think I'll probably get into them someday, but in the Ironman madness last weekend I told DH that at this point I can't imagine spending so much time in training but not running. For now I just really do love running.

Whoa nelly! Get it girl!
ETA: I'm trying to remember when your race day is - is this peak week?
Yes, thankfully! The race is 3 weeks from today, 6/14.
One of the women in my club (you know, just a Kona qualifier and all) was making me question peaking so far out from race day, but I have a coach and a plan and I just need to stay the course. Now is not the time to second guess!

Everyone's different, but I think 3 is perfectly normal Have fun this weekend! You are going to have such a great race!
I spent Friday in Kuala Lumpur and I am in Thailand for the next few days. I brought running clothes, but so far I have just been swimming lazily and doing 12 oz. curls. Meh. Whatever.

Hooray for your peak weekend! Go out there and kill it! I get so annoyed with that kind of second guessing people do. Just be supportive!

FIL just said "A is going to have a big belly like his daddy" What the fuck, dude. My H has lost 10 pounds in the last month and looks amazing. Also, my kid is a month old, he needs to have a belly! FIL makes these sort of comments all the time (when he and MIL were still married he would constantly make comments about her being fat). He has some sort of weird obsession with weight and is rail thin, so he thinks everyone else should be as well. It is going to be a long weekend if he keeps making comments like that. Grrrr
omfg. I just got back from my 1st workout of the weekend, the 3 hr bike + 1 hr run brick, and ugh. The bright side is that it is one for the confidence, I guess, but it was not fun. It rained and misted off and on the entire bike ride. Riding in the rain sucks. Brakes don't work right, it's messy, it's cold... about 40 miles in I started saying to myself over and over, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming..." because that's mostly how it felt. Then just as we finished and had to go run, the sun comes out and it gets HOT. Because of course.
Plus, I discovered this morning that my helmet is somehow broken! I piece of the foam part is broken off the forehead area, absolutely no idea when it happened or how. So, guess it's an emergency LBS trip today to replace. Le sigh.

Ok, it was already in the 80's when I started my run this morning. The bright side is that I still had a great run, saw a manatee, had a fun breakfast with my running friends, and now DH & I are drinking strawberry mojitos & playing with the new camera we just bought for vacation! ETA: jene, you come here. I'll make you a mojito. Hang in there!

I ran outside today for the first time in at least six months. Ran 3 miles at a pace six minutes faster than my dreadmill pace. I'm not sure if that's motivation to run outside more, or stick to indoors!
Added up all of the clothes I've bought for our trip this summer (I don't want to go, have to b/c it's a family thing with the ILs, so DH has volunteered to pay for it - in more ways than one! - by financing a wardrobe). Three pairs of shorts, two pairs of capris, a top, a dress and new shoes. Under other circumstances I'd be feeling pretty guilty.
I was hoping to make it to the local Memorial Day weekend festival before it gets too hot and crowded. But DH is out running right now, then will need his usual annoyingly long shower. By which time he'll want to have lunch before we go. So at this point I'll be satisfied if we're there by dinner time. Which I will make him eat at the festival no matter how much carnival style fast food disgusts him.
I'm excited to start training for my 10k tomorrow.
This weekend so far has been good, we took the ATVs out yesterday and today I will be gardening and then going to a picnic lunch for a friends bday then dinner at the ILs
We were going to go to mt. St, a Helens today, but it's too far away, over 200 miles roundtrip. So we are meeting my mom for a walk and then coffee. My life of leisure!
Andplusalso, I'm still having good pain days! Guys, I think it's working! Is it too early to plan a sprint in August?
The baby is going through a growth spurt or sleep regression or something. We've had 2 am wake up calls the last couple nights. I'm currently on my 3rd cup of coffee and trying unsuccessfully to get him to nap. My parents will be here soon and I fully plan on going for a run (even though it will be super warm)
DH had his guy's weekend, so I took the kiddos to MIL's lake house. The kiddos had a blast, and I got one good run in and plenty of time treading water in the lake while watching the kids. DH is now back and so grateful for his time away, he says he'll put the kids to bed. I should be doing some yoga, but instead, I am sitting on my ass.
Hoping to get a run in tomorrow before the pool BBQ.

I spent Friday and yesterday shopping for and prepping for DS's birthday BBQ with family. His cake took me most of yesterday, minus my morning run with my training group and a break for dinner. Couldn't sleep last night worrying about issues with our new dog, so now I'm completely exhausted. It was a great day, though. Planning on a run tomorrow morning, followed by prepping our flower beds, then taking DS to a local carnival.
I went to Malta in the Mediterranean for the weekend with a girlfriend of mine... here's the blog post if anyone is interested in some pretty pictures of my trip.

My 5k was long by 1.5 miles. Lolol. At least this time I don't have to take the blame, as I wasn't wearing the race shirt!
Wait, so your "5K" was actually almost 5 miles? I can see a tenth or two, but how in the world were someone's measurements that far off??
It was crazy! Apparently the 10k was supposed to turn right at this intersection on the trail and the 5k left, but all the arrows pointed right, and there was no volunteer present to direct us. That looped us around this little pond area and accounted for the extra 1.5.
