Ran a brutal half marathon today, but it was my second (time-wise) best race.
Friday- received an e-mail from race director stating that this was NOT a PR course as it ran through gravel trails and grassy fields. (:insert sad panda:)
Saturday-- they run out of my size shirts (:insert rage:)
Sunday-- Line up to start the race at 7:30 am (57 degrees)... 7:35 find out the start is delayed till 8am... 8am line up again (62 degrees). (Bitter Betty party of one right here!). Went out hard hoping despite the temps and course I'd have a PR. Alas, the heat beat me down (almost 75 at the finish)... but at least its not my slowest half yet. Final time 1:52:03

Way to go everyone! Lots of great times!
I'm beyond happy that I finally got my sub-25 5K! 24:27, actually so I was extra thrilled. I ended up being 3rd in my AG, and the guy who gave me my award was kind enough to point out that I missed #2 by 2 seconds. Which was funny because I thought that she might have been close to my age as we were running, but I just couldn't catch her. Oh well. I'm still happy.
al320 - I hope you have mega-success and hit your PR! Can't wait to hear how the marathon went.
Thanks! No PR, but that was unrealistic. I cane in just iver 3:59. All I wanted was to break 4. My head wasnt in it the first half, but around mile 14 some guy told me I was the 75th female and I decided I wanted to be under 70 and I kicked it up! I also went from 222 overall around mile 20 to 188 at the finish. I never hurt (well, the last half mile was hard), the course was great, weather was fine, I just couldnt get it together mentally. Sub-4, ill take it.
