My dog ate a box of mints and the main ingredient is Xylitol. I took him to the emergency vet last night and they induced vomiting and have had him on an IV drip since and have been adding dexatrose (sugar) to it to maintain his blood sugar level. He does have an elevated liver enzyme but so far his blood sugar level has been good. They have since stopped the dexatrose to see if he can maintain a healthy blood sugar level on his own. I just wondered if anyone has any experience with this. I need some words of encouragement. I'm somewhat of a mess. I feel awful.
And as a PSA, mints/candy/gum with Xylitol is highly toxic to animals.

I'm sorry that happened. I'm glad you got him to the e-vet so fast, you did absolutely the right thing and I hope he'll make a fast & full recovery.
It is scary how fast that stuff acts on a dog, and it is in so many things a dog might try to eat. And many people don't realize how dangerous it is for dogs . I've read it doesn't have as serious an effect on cats but I still make sure to keep gum hidden just in case.
Thanks @g22 and niemand88f. He seems to be pulling through and has been himself all day. They took him off the dextrose and he's maintaining a healthy blood sugar level as of 8:30pm. I'm going back to visit him in a bit and hopefully he can come home tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Thanks.
